I haven’t seen Niklaus since Monday morning when he dropped me off at school. It was now Wednesday morning and I was sitting in Mr. Saltzman’s class half-listening to him drone on about the Battle of Gettysburg. I looked out the window and it was a bright, lovely day and I wanted more than anything to skip class and lay out in the sun. I was halfway through texting Rebekah about my little getaway plan when the door opened and in walks Tyler with a massive bouquet of red roses, I look back towards Caroline and she was positively beaming. Lucky girl, I thought with a slight shake of my head as I continued texting Rebekah.
“Hello Tyler, I’m assuming these roses are not for me. Go on, make it quick.” Mr. Saltzman said while he continued drawing the positions of the confederate and union forces on the board.
Caroline was practically off her seat by this point, eyes twinkling while looking at the massive bouquet with unrepressed eagerness. Tyler on the other hand looked sheepish and apologetic. I furrowed my brows to look back at Caroline again when I heard her gasp and so did the rest of the class. I snapped my head towards the front of the class and was surprised to see that Tyler was in front of me with his hands outstretched like he wanted me to take the massive bouquet of roses. “Excuse me, what are you doing?” I blurted out, my eyes wide in shock. I mean his girlfriend is just a few steps away from me, she’s behind me to be exact, I shudder to think that she might stab me with a pencil any second now. “These are for you, from Klaus” he said confidently and he looked me straight in the eyes. Oh god, Klaus used the sire bond on him to do this. When I find Klaus, I will smack him with these roses, what is he playing at? Using Tyler as a pawn to do his bidding and in the process hurting Caroline? He could damn well give me flowers any other time of day and he could give them to me himself. I forced a smile towards Tyler and tried to take the bouquet as quickly as I could so that he could just go on and get out of here but it was both heavy and massive so I awkwardly placed it beside my bag, on the floor. With one last look towards Caroline, Tyler walked out of the classroom. There was this tension in the classroom and whispers were like buzzing bees to my ears.
“Who is this Klaus person?”
“You’re kidding right? They’re the new filthy rich family that moved into town.”
“Oh you mean the ones who had that Ball?”
“Rebekah’s family you mean?”
“The one with the hot older brother? Why did he have to be older? I could have a new eye candy now.”
“Do you mean the guy with the black hair and is all old fashioned?”
“Yeah that one!”
“I heard he’s having an affair with Tyler’s mom”
“No I heard that was the other brother, the younger one. I heard he just signed up today. He’s in Clara’s English class. She just literally texted me about him!”
"But ew, he's so young! He cannot be boning Tyler's mom - that's just gross. It has to be the other brother."
“Wait is it Klaus then, the one having the affair?”
“No, Klaus is Nicky’s boyfriend. I hear they've been together for like ever”
“Didn’t you see them at the car wash?”
"How you you miss them? They were practically dry humping on the hood of his Porsche"
“I swear I didn’t even know whose tongue was whose.”
“Wait I heard they got married at a Vegas shotgun wedding before they all moved back into town?”
“A bunch of crazies if you ask me.”
