Okay, so I completely lied to Niklaus, no one asked me to the Ball and I haven’t asked anyone either. Niklaus is just so incredibly, infuriating and so territorial... thinking that just because we had been married hundreds of years ago, that makes me his all of a sudden. He must’ve completely cracked his head during his hybrid transformation if he thinks that. I just had to say something to piss him off so I played to his territorial side and told him that someone already asked me to the Ball, now I am semi screwed because I don’t have a lot of time before Saturday.

So during lunch on Thursday, Elena, Bonnie, and Rebekah were helping me look for someone to take to the Mikaelson Ball. We were all seated at the prime table in the cafeteria; perks of being “popular.”  I mentally shook my head at the absurdity of American high schools.

But this certainly made the task easier.

“Okay what about him? He’s the captain of the lacrosse team. Nicely tanned and muscular. Well-mannered. Single. No crazy ex-girlfriend history. ” Bonnie pointed out another guy that was passing by.

“No, ew, no. He looks much too young and his hair is too gelled. He would probably take a longer time than I to get ready. So no. Next.” I made a face. “I need someone gruff, someone a little rough around the edges, but someone with manners and classy. Someone that could easily recite poetry to you, but also take you to bed the next moment. I need someone edgy, so maybe we should look outside this little captain’s club you’ve been showing me.”

“Okay I’m seeing a pattern here, you’ve turned down practically every captain of every team that I’ve pointed out. The captain's club, as you've pointed out, are the creme of the creme of this high school. Every high school girl wants to date one of these guys. Think like a high school girl!” Bonnie said while throwing up her hands in frustration.

“And you’ve practically just described my brother Niklaus, I don’t know, have you two met? He's tall, about yay high and oh, gorgeous blue eyes, 5 o'clock shadow on his face. Because he’s sounding more and more like your perfect date.” Rebekah teased while tossing her gorgeous blonde hair behind her shoulder. I stuck my tongue out at her. But I can't help but admit that she's right. Ugh. Mentally erasing the sexy image of Niklaus in my mind now. Niklaus may be so gorgeous but I am not that easily won over, certainly not by his looks. But there's no harm in admitting that Niklaus is hot, well no harm in doing that inside my head anyways.

“Ah, my date has appeared!” Rebekah smiled.

“Wait I thought you hadn’t asked anyone yet?” I exclaimed! Now the pressure is on, I simply cannot go to the Ball without a date, and knowing Niklaus, he must have a date by now. Probably scammed or compelled some poor girl into going with him.

“Well that’s why I’m gonna ask him now.” She smirked.

Rebekah walked confidently up towards a big group of football players that were laughing and joking around, 3 tables down from ours. All the guys momentarily stopped all conversation and they looked up to watch the stunning blonde approching their table.

“Hi Matt, I want you to come to my family’s Ball with me this Saturday” she confidently said towards Matt, the bartender from Mystic Grill. Huh, I didn’t think he would belong into the “It Group.” I mean he works a minimum wage job, aren’t the popular kids supposed to be wealthy? Hm, I might have my movie facts wrong then. Anyways, that must only mean that there’s more than meets the eye with this Matt guy. Good on Rebekah for asking him out.
