James walked me back to the castle without a word. Neither of us wanted to speak. I didn't know what to say. I can imagine James is going to tell Sirius about my date with Lucius. The only noises taking place was the sound of our feet hitting the ground one step at a time. Suddenly, James stopped walking. He was looking at the ground. Then he spoke. "Why were you with that freak?" he said still not looking at me. He was scrunching his eyebrows in a confused look. "I didn't know he was a bad person," I said in a whisper. "Why do you think he's a Slytherin Lovey?" he exclaimed finally looking up at me. He looked angry. "Not all Slytherins are bad James." I fought back. "LOVEY, you've been here for less than two months. You don't know anything!" It went silent. his eyes frantically followed mine. he was now standing about a foot away from me. I began to feel choked and my eyes began to water.

We stayed quiet looking at each other until finally I looked down and sobbed

We stayed quiet looking at each other until finally I looked down and sobbed. "He was my first kiss," I whispered. James picked my chin up and looked at my eyes which were now dripping in tears. Slowly, James began to lean in. I didn't fight it this time. I let it happen. His lips gently pressed against mine. We began moving our lips In a rhythm as he took my face in his hands. After a few seconds, James slowly moved away from my face not taking his eyes off mine. "Let that be your first kiss," he whispered. I smiled and we continued walking. I wasn't sure how to feel about anything right now. It was quiet again, allowing my thoughts to attack me. finally we arrived at the castle. we walked all the way up to the common room and I was too overwhelmed to say hello to all the boys who were watching us walk in together. I stopped at the foot of the stairwell and turned around. James was there leaning over me. all of his friends were watching from the couches. "I'm sorry I yelled today," he whispered to me making eye contact with my lips. "It's okay you were right," I said looking up at him. He gave me a smile as If he felt bad for me. We stood there for a second until he kissed my forehead. "Goodnight Lovey," he whispered once more. This time I got goosebumps up and down my back. "Goodnight," I whispered back before making my way up the stairs.
