Harley removed the bag from Bruce's head, as the bright lights of the circus raved around them.  By simply heisting a circus that was in town, Jerome and Harley were ready to make their mark on this city, to be its King and Queen.

But Bruce Wayne was their chance at the throne.

Bruce watched the innocent being beaten and battered by Jeromes men.  A man and woman at a clown toss having baseballs thrown at them.  A man at the duck targets; a large target attached to him as they shot at him with real guns.  People tied up and held at gunpoint on the never-ending carousel.

"Get him!"  Jerome called to the man at the game with a mallet trying to hit people as their heads popped up from the holes.

"Squash her!"

"Hit the old lady!"

"The fat guy!"

"Put your back into it!"

"Ughhhh, ahaha,"  Jerome said pleased.  "We're  off to a good start,"

Harley picked up the hat she was asked to bring to Jerome and held it out to him to take.  Jerome walked over to her, taking the hat out of her hands and placing it on his head.

"Whadaya say Bruce?"  He adjusted the hat looking up at Bruce, "Wanna have some fun before the main event?"  He grinned a devils grin, and gestured behind him.

'This will be fun,'   Harley thought.  She smiled, putting her bat over her shoulder as Bruce spared a glance at her, in which her smile grew.

Alfred sat in the GCPD with an ice pack held to his head.  Choppers were heard outside and sirens, after Jerome plunged the city into darkness, that's all the sounds he's heard so far.

"Harvey has news from your tip off,"  Jim Gordon said walking to the room, followed by a ginger officer Alfred didn't recognize.

"You said Bruce was able to convince Jerome to kill him in front of an audience,"  Jim asked for reassurance.

"Yeah, he's  trying to buy himself some more time,"  Alfred confirmed. "I'd be proud if I wasn't so bloody terrified,"

"Jeromes cult occupy places all over town, finding an audience won't be an issue, the question is...where?"  The ginger officer said.

"I-I'm sorry, who are you?"  Alfred asked.

The ginger stepped forward and shook the butlers hand.

"Sergeant Adam McCormick,"  the man said.  As he shook Alfred's hand, Adam felt a sharp pain through his abdomen, and winced grabbing for it.

"We got em'.  They are at Anders Park, at the Cathedral, the zoo, they've taken over the Hillside Conservatory, the courthouse, and the boardwalk circus,"  Harvey said reading off of notecards in his hands.

"Both Jerome and Harley were raised in the circus,"  Jim said.  Jim turned to Adam,

"Have a strike force and all available units meet  us there,"  Adam nodded.

"I'll put out the call on the way, let's roll,"  Harvey said as the trio was off to their jobs.

The face painter, finished Bruce's face.  He was instructed to make him look like a clown, a sad clown.  The outcome:  white under his eyes with black eyeliner.  Both had a tear drop under the eye in the middle, and his eyebrows were drawn in black paint to resemble an upset face.
