Days passed slowly and weeks passed even slower. I haven't had the displeasure of dealing with Dark since the night he marked me. It's been three weeks since that day, and Dark's name has disappeared from my lip. Part of me was glad. I could even say that I was thankful. Thankful that I was no longer marked by a demon and that I had a chance live normal life. However, another part of me was sad. I missed how his arms held my waist securely and how his brown eyes turned black as he stared at me with lust. Maybe I should stop talking about Dark now. I do have a life, you know?

After taking a quick shower, I put on a pair of black shorts, a (favorite color) tank top, and my black vans. Normally I wouldn't wear shorts, but it was extremely hot out today. I quickly (curled/straightened) my hair and moisturized before walking out the door.

It didn't take me very long to walk to my destination. Only about ten minutes, not including the time I wasted as I stopped to pet any dogs I seen along the way. A sigh escaped my lips as I stared at the glass door, Shallot University painted across it white print. I hated attending school, but since I was out of the hospital I had to attended. It's not like I could drop out. I only have a year left before I graduate with a degree in (degree of choice).

As I stepped inside, I felt my life force being sucked out of my body. Another sigh slipped through my lips as I walked through the halls to my morning class, which lasted three hours.

When class released, I rushed through the halls and back outside into the court yard. It was extremely hot, but I didn't care. I felt the sun gently caressing my skin. For the first time in months, I felt myself smile.

"Hey, beautiful. It's nice to see you smiling for once." A male that's just a few inches taller than me stepped into my line of view. His messy brown hair was thrown about in every direction, and he was still wearing his pajamas.

I playfully rolled my eyes, punching his shoulder. "Shut up Jonah. It's not like me smiling is going to cause world peace or anything."

"Yeah yeah whatever. It's just like you to deny a compliment, (First name)." Jonah placed his tanned arm around my shoulders as we started walking around. We didn't have a clear destination, but I didn't mind. Sometimes it was nice to just walk around and enjoy someone else's company. "So I was thinking," Jonah looked away as he spoke. He seemed nervous. "How about we go out and get dinner sometime? Like a date maybe?"

I opened my mouth to talk, but I ended up closing my mouth as fast as I opened it. My bottom lip started burning. It felt as though someone were dragging a burning knife through the soft flesh. I blinked rapidly, ignoring the urge to cry from the searing pain. Jonah's baby blue eyes sparkled with concern as he gently cupped my cheek.

"Hey are you okay?" He asked, his voice gentle and quiet.

I nodded, not willing to open my mouth again in fear of the pain. Suddenly, I was jerked away from his tender touch and pulled back into a hard chest. I felt a familiar pair of toned arms wrap around my waist; Dark had shown back up, and he was now holding me against his chest. I felt myself smirking. 'He's back due to Jonah. Dark is jealous.'

Jonah looked confused and hurt. Almost as if I'd just taken his puppy and kicked it as hard as I could. "What are you looking at, dickweed? Can't you see that (First name) is taken?"

Jonah's lips opened and closed like a fish flapping around in dry land. He obviously didn't know what to say, and after a few embarrassing moments of looking like a fish, he finally turned away and left without saying a word.

"Nice to see you again, Dark." I pulled free from his embrace and turned to look at him. At this moment, he looked nothing like the man I seen in my dream. His grey skin was now sun kissed, his black eyes were back to the chocolate brown shade I had seen the first time he appeared, and his usual attire was no longer a suit. Instead, Dark was wearing red high tops, skinny jeans, and a t-shirt with some video game logo.

"It's impolite to stare, kitten." His tough hand grabbed my chin, raising my gaze to meet his. "You even ignored me when I said the pleasure was all mine."

"O-oh! I'm sorry!" My face heated up, making me certain that I looked like a tomato.

"No worries." Dark laughed, but something about that laugh told me that I should worry about it. I seen black speckles in his eyes now. That's when I knew that Dark was pissed that I had ignored him when he spoke.

"Now, kitten, let's set some ground rules. In public you will address me as Mark, but in private you will address me as Dark, master, or daddy. You will reply when spoken to and you will NOT ignore me. Do you understand?" Dark's voice played in my head. His lips never moved as he spoke, and his eyes never stopped looking into mine.

"I understand."

"Good girl." This time his lips moved. He was no longer in my head. Dark smiled at me, his eyes lacking the black speckles this time. "Now that we have a mutual understanding, I'll pick you up at eight. Dress nice. We're going out for dinner."
