Chapter 4
Unfortunately the police wouldn’t let us go. Apparently if they let us out they might be letting out a cold blooded killer. Lalia and me ended up sitting in the waiting room waiting for something to happen. All of a sudden I had a perfect idea for a book.
“ Lalia, can you get me a notebook or something?” I asked her
“ A notebook?” she asked confused, “ Why would you need a notebook? What would you do with it?”
“ I just had an awesome idea for a book.”
“ Since when do you write books? You haven’t done that since your paren-. Oh oh all right I’ll go find one.” Said Lalia getting up.
I saw her heading towards the reception desk and tried waiting patiently. I couldn’t but feel fidgety. It was almost as it was my destiny to write something in that notebook. Finally when Lalia came back I snatched it from her, mumbling a thanks and started writing. I was so distracted by my writing that I didn’t notice Lalia looking at me with a worried look on her face. Shortly after she got up and left.
Time passed very quickly and I already had half of the plot written out. I felt a tap on my shoulder and found it was Lalia.
“ Hey, I just talked to Detective O’Callahan and he agreed to let us go.” She said.
“ What? Seriously? How did you manage to do that?” I asked
“ Well, I told him that you’re taking all this very stressful and decided to write a book. On paper. After years of only using your laptop or phone to write something down. So he agreed to let us go home.” Said Lalia with an evil glint in her eye
“ Lalia! You’re a genius! When we get home I’ll even make you a Sandwich”

Once we finally got home, I fell face first onto my bed. This was the most exhausting thing I had to do without needing act physically. Having forgotten the notebook downstairs from the hospital, I went to go get it to only see Lalia making us Cocktails.
“Lalia, what are you doing?” I asked
“ I’m making us Cocktails.” Lalia said stating the obvious
“ Yea, I can see that, but why?”
“ Well I thought that it could take a cool drink to calm us down from all the commotion down at the hospital.” she said smirking
I went into the living room and Lalia followed with Cocktails and snacks on a tray. Knowing there was no way I could get out of this, I put my notebook down onto the table. All of this stress was exhausting to me. I knew that I needed a vacation off from all this.
“ Hey Lalia, what would you think of a vacation?” I asked her after a few huge gulp of the drink,” I think Italy’s rather nice this time of year.”
“ Hmm...Italy. That’s exotic.” she said
“ So what do you say?” I ask
“ Well I’m not sure if Mr. Blake would let me go, but he can’t say no to you.”
“ O..ok. We’ll ask tomorrow.”
Soon enough, the world around me was spinning and I wasn’t aware of anything. I never got drunk but with this little exception I had a little too much. Lalia must have had the Cocktails contain something strong. Trying to get of the couch, my legs buckled under my and I fell on the couch again. The last thing I previewed before I passed out was Lalia getting me a blanket and cover me with.
