Chapter 7
Previously
Lalia and Hunter went on explaining how they plan to overthrow the King. It was the most complicated thing I’ve ever heard. They know that Marius was soon to take over the throne and Sebastien would have a weak point. Apparently Marius agreed to help Lalia out to speed up the process.
Suddenly the door barge open again and Kristina comes in running with a very worried expression on her face.
“ His majesty, the King wants to talk to you, Allison!” said Kristina

Lalia started panicking. Knowing the King could manipulate minds of humans making them revile the most deadly secrets. He could easily poison my mind with that mojo and find out Lalias’ and Hunters’ plans.
“ Ok. Kristina, do you mind leaving the room?” asked Lalia
“ Sure..but be quick. I’ll be waiting outside.” she said leaving the room.
“ Listen carefully now. I won’t erase your memories but I’ll put up a wall in your mind. Don’t try to remember. Prince Marius and the whole Royal family will be there so pretend that you never met any of them. Got it?” said Lalia in one breath
“ Got it. Wall in my mind, try not to remember and pretend I never met any of the vampires before.” I recited
“ Good.” said Lalia satisfied, “ Now go. Don’t keep the King waiting”
As I follow Kristina to where ever the King is, I can’t help but notice all the beautiful architecture, fancy and expensive furniture to which the deep crimson, velvet carpets fit perfectly. My gaze traveled up to the ceiling of the hallway which has different patterns engraved into it making it look very ancient but the small, modern, crystal ceiling lights would tell otherwise.
I was too distracted by my surroundings that I suddenly walked into something very hard. I felt myself falling backward and winced with shut eyes before I hit the ground. Yet the impact never came. I felt two strong hands holding me by my waist.
Slowly I opened my eyes.
“Marius!” I exclaimed looking into his blue-grey eyes
“Shhh. Not that loud..there are eyes and ears everywhere in the palace.” whispered Marius, “What Eulalia did is very bad. Very very bad! You better hope that my father can’t come into your mind.”
“Lalia put a wall up in my mind. I should be fine. Plus, if anything happens I know you’ll be there to save me.” I said with a cock smile
Kristina made gagging sound that made Marius let go of me and take a step back. I glared at my sister. Way to ruin a moment!
“Of course I’ll save you. But still, you should be careful. Our allegiances have to stay secret for now.” he told me and gave a peck on my lips
It was a surprise to me what a small kiss could do to me. It left me speechless. Kristina just started walking again after seeing my reaction and rolling her eyes.
“Hey, hey, hey. I saw that!” I said to her
“You were meant to.” she said with a warm smile, “I’ve never seen a guy have that much of an effect on you. But then again, our situation isn’t normal.”
Her smile disappeared as we reached a ginormous oak door. I understood that this probably was the conference room or something. Kristina’s nervosity gave me an uneasy feeling in my stomach. If this King had this much power over Kristina I wondered what he’d have on me.
