Alexis's point of view

"Are you fucking serious?" I heard my dad yell as the front door shut. "Why are you like this?"

"Fuck off! I had a long day at work today and I don't need this right now!" My mum shouted back at him.

I reaced for my backpack, immmediately throwing a set of clothes inside of the school bag. My phone charger followed, along with a few five's since I couldn't drive like other kids my age.

"Long day at work? You're drunk Ren!"

"You're drunk!"

I slid my headphones off, the sound of Machine Gun Kelly's voice fading out as I wrapped them around my neck. My fingers quickly unlocked my window, shaking with adrenaline and fear as glass crashed downstairs loudly.

"You do this all of the time!"

"I do not!"

I lifted my window open slowly, sliding my body underneath the glass and on to the roof. As soon as my feet hit the tiles, I immediately closed my window a bit, looking down at the grass beside the house. It was awhile down, but it never stopped me before, and it wouldn't now.

I sat down on the edge, turning around and then grasping the edge in my hands before letting my body hang off of the edge. I dropped down on to the lawn, flinching when I heard them through the sliding glass door. They were in the living room and my mum was hitting my dad's chest.

"Stop hitting me!"

"Then fucking listen to me!"

I turned my head and then ran to the tall wooden gate, quickly unlocking it before running away from the house. My heart was in my throat, tears pooling in my eyes as the sound of the soles of my shoes hitting the concrete rang throughout my ears. I couldn't hear anything else, like the neighboring kids laughing or the older men down the street talking.

A car turned into our street and I immediately ran to the sidewalk, hearing it screech to a stop. I ignored it, running along the main street so I could get to the nearest bus stop. Many had jumped out of my way, or gave me weird stares on my trip there, but I didn't care. I tried not to pay too much attention to them.

When I finally made it to the bus stop, I sat down on the metal bench, my knee bouncing up and down anxiously as I took a deep breath. I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand quickly, looking around before bowing my head down in defeat as I waited, and waited, and waited for the bus to come.

"Alexis?" I heard my girlfriend, Nicole, say as she opened her apartment door. "Have you been crying?" Was her first question when she looked at me.

"Let me in. Nikki, please." I begged and she opened the door wider. I walked inside and she shut the door behind me as I threw my bag on her couch.

"What's goi-"

I went up to her and wrapped my arms around her body, holding her tightly as tears fell from my eyes quickly. She rubbed my back gently and I clutched her dark hoodie in my fists as she shushed me gently.

"It's okay, babygirl." She breathed out, kissing the top of my head as I let myself fall into her, relying on her to keep us both upright.

"It's so tired of it, Nick." I sniffled, my face burying deeper into her neck. "They always do this."

"Your parents?" She asked and I nodded my head pathetically as she ran her fingers through my hair. "It's alright Lexi, just calm down okay? You're fine. You'll be fine."

"I want them to stop. All my life they've fought and fought and fought. I just want it all to stop." I confessed, my hold on her jacket growing weaker.
