Rain for Audrey

It rained that day. It was on the news. I watched and threw my arms in the air. I ran outside and danced everywhere. I knew others from school would be watching, but I didn't care. Audrey was the only thing I thought about as I danced.

It didn't occur to me that she'd be watching me. Not a bit. I just thought about how much I loved her. I don't know what came upon me. Normally, I'd see a pretty girl and not care. Audrey made me feel good.

Her smile.

Her way of attitude.

Her mysterious ness. (Is that a word?)

Her way of standing out.

How she could light up a room by just walking in.

These are a few of the things I loved about Audrey. I never have felt this way towards any girl. Ever. I've been all around Russia, Italy, Denmark, America, Japan, China, India, Netherlands, Austria, Ukraine, you name it and I've been there. I've met many girls that all felt the same about me. I was different. I was weird. I would never fit in. Girls don't apparently like people like me. Audrey did. She thought I was special. I knew there was more to her than shopping and her girlfriends.

There was much more.

A series of events happened that same day

1.It rained and poured.

2.Almost everyone left their house so they could see.

3. So did I.

4.I danced in circles, ran back in forth, did crazy stuff.

5. People stared at me.

6. Audrey looked at me too.

7. There was a smile on her face.

8. She wanted to go out and dance too.

9. Then they started.

10. Raindrops filled the bucket of another junior from my school.

11. All the way to the tippity top.

12. It hurled across the air.

13. It hit me.

14. Audrey gasped.

15. Laughs were heard by every teenager outside at the time.

16. I almost cried.

17. Another one was thrown, then one more.

18.I ran inside.

19. Audrey was scared.

20. I flopped onto my bed and grabbed a towel from the bathroom.

21. It stopped raining.

22. I was curled up on my bed, in the towel.

23. I was crying really hard.

24. Not a sound was heard.

25. Not a knock at my door, nothing.

26. Kurt, Mama, and Papa were not aware of my tears.

27. I went to school the next day.

28. People were calling me Rainboy.

29. Laughter was heard everywhere I went.

30. Audrey did not laugh.

It wasn't raining anymore and there was no sign it rained yesterday either. Audrey approached me.

"You did it, didn't you?"

"I, uh, wha-?" I stumbled with my own words.

"For me? Did you make it rain for me?" she said slowly.

"Um, yeah, I think I did." I scratched the back of my neck nervously.

"And you danced in it." At that moment I knew she saw me.

I knew she cared.

I knew she was not who I thought she was.

I knew she would die if I left the world.

I knew she was mine.

And she liked it like that.

I knew something big would happen.
