The Waking Abyss (COMPLETED, Sequel has started)

Chapter 41

So my internet decided to work a little better, its faster but still very slow, luckily I was able to post this chapter, I hope you enjoy.

It has been a few days sense we got back to camp. We've all been training like crazy, Maya has been working with Nico and Will sense she is using both a sword and a bow, plus Nico can teach her about her powers as a daughter of Hades. Ethan has been training with Jason and Thalia to learn how to use his powers as a son of Zeus. Alyss, Jack, and Sarah have been training with Percy. I've pretty much been training with all of them, whoever was available at whatever time it was.  Nobody has really had time for anything other than training, eating, sleeping, and keeping watch for Tartarus and his army.

"Danial, you want to come train with Nico and I today? Will has to be at the infirmary all day because people are getting hurt in training sessions." Said Maya, everyone was walking in separate directions after breakfast.

"Sure, I could use some help with my powers, I was told Nico could teach me how to control them better." I said.

We walked over to Nico and then the three of us went to the arena.

"Ok, Maya start practicing on those dummies, I'm gonna see if I can help Danial with his powers.

I have no idea what to have them say while Nico helps him so it's just going to be a time skip.

Nico helped me for a while, I can actually touch people without turning them into black dust now, and I don't have to wear my gloves.

"Ok, you two fight, I'm gonna watch and eat popcorn. Try not to kill each other, but use your powers and weapons, you'll need practice using both while in combat." Said Nico, then he walked out, when he came back a few minutes later he had a very large black bowl that had skulls on it, and it was full of popcorn.

"Are you sure about this, if I use my powers I could kill her." I said.

"Yes, you could, but I thought you how to control them so you won't. So, yes I am sure about this." He said, then gestured for us to start.

Maya charged at me and we started to fight, her sword was better in close combat than my scythe so I shadow traveled back a few steps and continued to swing my scythe. All you could hear was the sound of our weapons clanging against each other, until I hit the sword out of her hand and swung my scythe, stopping inches from her neck.

"I win." I said.

Nico shook his head no.

"What do you mean, she's weaponless and would be dead had I not stopped my swing."

Nico laughed for a minute.

"Look down." He said.

I looked down and saw the point of a dagger a few millimeters from my heart, Maya was holding the dagger.

"You both lost, because you would both be dead." Said Nico.

"Where'd the dagger even come from?! Last I knew, you only used a sword and bow and didn't carry any other weapons!" I said.

"It's Nico's. He tossed it to me while we were fighting." Said Maya.

I was about to respond when Percy ran in the arena yelling.

"Tartarus is here! We need to get ready now!" He shouted then ran out again.

"But I'm not done with my popcorn yet." Said Nico as he put his bowl down and drew his sword, Maya tossed him his dagger.

The three of us ran out and went to Half-blood Hill, and sure enough, Tartarus, along with all the Titans and giants (except for Bob and Damasen of course) and an army of monsters bigger than I've ever seen before.

"I hope you are all ready to die." Boomed Tartarus.

"Harley go I.M. the gods! Now!" Shouted Chiron.

Harley ran off towards the big house.

"Yes, call the gods here. Even with their help you will all die, and I will destroy Olympus and throw the world into chaos." Said Tartarus.

"Annabeth, Percy, try to call our Egyptian friends! We're gonna need all the help we can get! Maybe you can see if your cousin is in town Annabeth, he could help to!" Shouted Chiron.

Both Percy and Annabeth got their phones out, and started talking to whoever they called.

"Ok, Carter and Sadie are on their way with a bunch of magicians." Said Percy.

"Unfortunately Magnus isn't in town, although he said he would be happy to help if he was able to get here." Said Annabeth.

Sorry, I'm not gonna have Magnus in this fanfic, I haven't read any Magnus Chase yet, but I wanted to put a reference to it in whatever small way I could, I figured this would work.

"Are you done trying to call for help, the more people here the more people I can kill so I'm happy to let you call up all of your friends and family to come help. I've got all day, it's you who are out of time." Said Tartarus.

As if in answer Chiron fired his bow and the arrow hit right in the center of Tartarus's chest. Tartarus laughed and pulled it out.

"I guess you're done." He said, then the army surged forward and the battle began.
