Chapter 29

APOV

When Nico charged at Tartarus we were all completely stunned.

"Nico! Stop, even you can't beat him!" Shouted Will, he tried to grab Nico's arm before he could get to far away from us but wasn't able to.

Then, when We tried to run after him, there was something like an invisible wall that kept us back. All we could do was watch.

He's gonna die. If he dies and I can't get to him there is nothing I'll be able to do. I can't revive someone if I can't touch them, so unless this invisible wall goes away, Nico's a goner.

We watched as Nico battled Tartarus, at first he was doing ok, dodging the giant black swords and getting a hit with his own sword and dagger. Then after a little bit he started slowing down, and one of the swords hit his side, he was thrown away from Tartarus, and the scream of pain when the sword hit made me cringe.

Come on Nico, come on, don't be dead.

I saw Will, Maya, Hazel, and Reyna banging on the invisible wall, screaming curses at Tartarus. The rest of our group had given up trying to get through the wall.

"You will die Nico di Angelo. Then I will kill your friends." Said Tartarus as he walked over to Nico, who was laying on his back, I saw blood flowing from his side.

"No Tartarus. This form will die." Said the voice of a girl, I didn't recognize the voice.

Here come the feels I mentioned that you need to be prepared for.

Suddenly a bunch of spirits like Luke and Ethan came out of the shadows. In the lead were Luke, Ethan, and a few people I didn't recognize.

"Oh. My. Gods." Said Thalia.

"What is it? Who are those people, or spirits, or whatever they are? Asked

"I can name a few. But the one who's talking is Bianca, Nico's sister. The girl next to her was the lieutenant of Artemis before me, Zoë Nightshade. You already know Luke and Ethan. The couple holding hands is Charles Beckendorf and Silena Beauregard. Those four girls behind them are Phoebe, Celyn, Naomi, and Kinzie. They died at the hands of the giant Orion, along with many other hunters and amazons. The two guys behind Luke are Michael Yew and Lee Fletcher, they were both head counselors of the Apollo cabin. Next to them is Castor, he was one of Dionysus' sons, he died defending camp when the labyrinth was opened. There are so many others, I could go on forever naming people who I knew. I just don't know how they got here. They should be in Elysium." Answered Thalia.

"You shouldn't have left your cozy homes in Elysium." Snarled Tartarus.

"There is no Elysium, not any more. When you took my dad prisoner the underworld went into chaos. The spirits from the fields of punishment attacked Elysium. It lies in ruins now. We intend to take it back and rebuild once you're defeated." Said Bianca.

"It's a shame that I can't be defeated, especially not by a bunch of ghost kids. You will all be destroyed... permanently." Said Tartarus.

"We may not be able to completely destroy you. But we sure as Hades can destroy this manifestation." Said Bianca.

Nico had stood back up at this point. He was staring at Bianca, I could see tears falling down his face. I can't even begin to imagine what this must be like, seeing the spirit of your dead sister about to attack the lord of the abyss.

"Bianca." Nico finally said, she looked at him and smiled.

"Take your friends and leave. You are very close to the prison where the rest of your friends are being kept, but the gods are not there. I don't know where the other prison is, but it's nowhere close." Said Bianca.
