Cinder, Kipz and Rose
-Maya-
The red light slowly begins to fade, leaving a small figure standing on the floor. Me, Amy and River peer into the darkness, but suddenly, we no longer need to peer. The Pokemon that comes out of the Pokeball has a small fire erupting and flickering like an incandescent candle. It has navy blue skin in its back - underneath the fire - and its underbelly is a pale yellow. It head is pointed and its eyes are small, almost slits.
'A Cyndaquil...Cool!' Amy says. I smile as well - I think it looks really cool and really cute. The Cyndaquil turns and gives me a confused stare, cocking its head to the side. It's fire glows a little larger, but it calms down after a few seconds.
'Hey, little guy.' I say, stretching my hand outwards to stroke its head. The Cyndaquil is slightly nervous at first, but as soon as my fingers touch its head, it calms down. I slowly stroke its head. Cyndaquil likes it, and nuzzles it head on my hand.
'Huh, he likes you.' Says River. She peers over my shoulder to get a look, but refrains from stroking it.
'Lets see what the others are.' Amy suggests. She throws her own Pokeball next to Cyndaquil. It erupts in a cascade of shining colours, and a morphing red light, just like mine. However, unlike Cyndaquil before us sits a much different Pokemon. It has exotic green skin, and a square head with a long mouth. Most strangely, on its back it has a large green bulb in the shape of an oversized onion. Two vines rest by its side.
'Bulbasaur! Its look quite weird? Is that a seed on its back? Is it dangerous?' River asks.
'You're so scared of everything! It's really cute! I love it!' Amy says, and bounces on the balls of her feet. Bulbasaur smiles back and tickles Amy with a vine. Amy giggles.
'What’s the final Pokemon' I ask, 'Go on, River, throw the Pokeball.' I say. River nods and trembles slightly.
'Here goes...' she says and throws the Pokeball.
'Why is she so paranoid?' Amy whispers in my ear as River throws the Pokeball. I shrug - I guess it's just the way River's personality is. It's not really my business though. I don't really care, anyway, as long as River can carry her own weight on this forthcoming journey and doesn't whine all the time. I HATE crybabies.
Just like the two times before, River's Pokeball opens up and the light it releases morphs into a Pokemon. Before us stands a strange little Pokemon. It is made of aqua blue colour, but has a protruding neon orange fin from its head and two spiky orange pouches on either side of its head. It has four stubby blue legs and, and a grey spade-like tail.
'MUDKIP KIP KIP MUUUUUUDDDDDKIP!!!!!!' It shouts
'I know that Pokemon; it's a Mudkip.' I say. Mudkip looks slightly confused, as though he isn't sure exactly what's going on. It turns to River, and says quietly:
'Kip...'
'Yeah...cool.’ River says, but her awkwardness to the situation is obvious. Maybe she is paranoid, I mean, what is so scary about an adorable Mudkip? I shake my head - River seems pretty strange. Amy, meanwhile, seems like the sort of person who is happy all the time. Those sort of I-love-everyone-so-much-because-everything-is-awesome people.
And what about me? I guess I would describe myself as pretty normal. I mean, I can't remember anything about my previous life, of course, but just the way I have been behaving recently - it's not anything spectacular. I guess I'm not that special - just a girl, a normal girl.
