Done Waiting: Auston Matthews Sequel

GAME.

||IVY||

"GAME day boys!!" Mitch yells as he walks right through Auston and I's apartment. 

"Please be quiet." I say as i rub my temple and drink my coffee.

"Why? Are you hungover?!" Mitch yells at me as he jumps onto my couch.

"Leave her alone." Auston starts as he wraps his arm around my waist and kisses my temple.

"Ew, don't kiss in front of me." Mitch says and I roll my eyes. 

"What? You and Steph always kiss in front of us!" I say shaking my head at him.

"Well that's different." Mitch says getting up from the couch.

"Not really." Auston says with a questioning look.

"Whatever, come on love birds, let's get to practice." Mitch says as i take my to go cup of coffee and we walk out the house. 

||AT THE ACC||

"So, when are the two of you getting married?" Kadri asks me as Auston and I step onto the ice.

"I don't know, when are you gonna pop the question Matts?" I ask him smirking and he starts to blush.

"I, um, uh.." Auston starts and Willy cuts him off by wrapping his arm on Auston's shoulder.

"Well when you do, you both have to thank me." William says proudly and I roll my eyes.

"And me also." Mitch says joining us and wrapping his arm around my shoulders.

"We would have to thank all of you." I say smiling at everyone.

"And you guys should thank me now since I'm putting you, Matthews and Nylander on the first line tonight." Babcock tells me stepping onto the ice and my eyes widen and the team circles around him.

"Are you serious?" I ask him and he nods his head.

"You have worked for it, and consider it a late birthday gift." He tells me and I nod my head yes.

||AFTER THE GAME||

"Good job tonight babe." Auston tells me as we lock our hands together and walk to the car.

"Thank you." I tell him as we quickly kiss.

"What did I say?" Mitch asks from behind us.

"Sorry Marns, you gotta live with it." I tell him and he shakes his head and groans.

"Let's just get you guys home. I've been around you guys too much, on the ice and off the ice." Mitch says as we all get into his car.

||AT HOME||

Once Auston and I got home, we both got ready for bed right away since the game tired us out quickly. Once I was ready, I then slip into bed and Auston turns off the light and slips in beside me.

"Night." He says and he places his arm around my waist and pulls me close.

"Night." I say as I turn and face him.

After a few minutes, I find myself thinking about Kadri's question of when Auston and I are gonna get married.

"I know you're not asleep yet." Auston says as he runs his fingers through my hair.

"And neither are you." I tell him and I run my finger along his jaw.

"What's on your mind?" He asks me and I take a deep breath.

"The scary future." I tell him.'

"Like us?" He asks me and his eyes are suddenly open.

"Yeah, like howmany kids are we gonna have, are they gonna be boys, girls, both, or when we're going to get married, or when we're gonna buy a new house, or if we're even gonna last that long." I tell Auston and we gets a hold on my hand.

"Of course we're gonna last that long, i'm never gonna lose you again." Auston says.

"Are you sure, you hurt me before." I tell him so quiet that you could barely hear me.

"I promise I would never do that again, why are you still bringing it up?" Auston asks me sitting up from the bed and I do also.

"I'm sorry it's just, once that happens to you, you can't forget it." I tell him, and he shakes his head.

"I know, but I thought we were past this." Auston says getting up and out of the bed and slips on a pair of joggers.

"Where are you going?" I ask him as I get out of bed also.

"I don't know, maybe Mitch's I just need to go." Auston says and he walks out the room and I follow behind him. 

"Auston, please." I say and I follow him to the door.

"I'll See you around." Auston says and he grabs his keys and walks out the door.

"And to think I was petty." I say shaking my head. At this point i'm not even sad, once it happened once, you kinda get used to it.

i then head back into bed knowing he'll be back. As I'm in bed I start to drift off to sleep in the empty bed tonight.
