||IVY||
TEARS fill my eyes as I watch my two best friends finally get married. I stand to the side of Steph with the rest of the bridesmaids right across from Auston. I then look over to him and he's just smiling down at me with my wet face and I just start to laugh.
As Steph and Mitch then pull away from their kiss, everyone started to clap and cheer for the newlyweds. The two then make their way back down the isle and into the back rooms. At the end, all the groom's men and bridesmaids end up going into the back where Mitch and Steph are and I'm the first to get to the both of them and hug them very tight.
"I'm so proud!!" I say as best as I can with tears in my eyes and a swollen throat.
"Awe, Ivy don't cry! You're gonna make me cry!" Steph says as we pull away and Mitch just laughs.
"I can't help it! You guy's are my closest friends!" I say as the rest of the people finally reach us and we all do a quick group hug.
Once we all pull away, I then feel arms around my waist and a chin on the top of my head. I then look up to see Auston's face and then I lean back into his chest.
"Alright guys! Let's take a few photo's and then head to the after party!" Steph says as everyone cheers and we start to head out of the back rooms.
||AT THE AFTER PARTY||
Willy and Emory, Matt and Syd, Tyler and Molly, Mo and Kadri and Auston and I are all sitting at the same table as we wait for the newlyweds. As we start to eat, we have plenty of conversations around the table, but that was then cut short when Steph and Mitch walk out the double doors and everyone cheers. Steph ended up changing into a more comfortable dress for the after party since the other dress was a bit heavy.
The two then join our giant table and they start to eat their food. Once everyone was done, it was time for the best man and maid of honor speeches. Auston being the best man, he then stod up with his glass of champagne and a fork. He then hits the glass and catches everyone's attention.
"Woah, I've never done that before and that was pretty loud." Auston says as everyone starts to laugh at his stupidity.
"Well, I guess I'm gonna say my speech now. So to start, I never thought this day was gonna come, where Mitch finally got to marry the girl of his dreams, and I got the honor of being the best man! Um, I'm gonna be totally honest, I had a best man speech from google ready to say, but I new that would be the worst thing to do so I ripped the paper and now here I am. But only a few hours ago was when I knew what I was gonna say. Mitch and I have always had a love hate relationship." Auston starts and Everyone laughs at the last part.
"I mean, I love the guy, but he is really tough to love sometimes, right Steph?" Auston asks her as she nods her head yes and everyone laughs.
"But somehow he was able to get Steph to only love him and not hate him. That is all I see with these guys, love. I've never seen something like their relationship, and I want them to keep this forever, which i know they will be able to." Auston says as everyone starts to smile.
"And I wish them the best in the very near future! To the newlyweds!" Auston ends his speech lifting his glass as everyone follows and then takes a quick sip. Now it's my turn.
"Alright, so now it's my turn to say my speech to these guys." I say once I stand up and Auston takes a seat.
"When I was very young, Mitch's family took my into their lives and I am very grateful for that! Thank you for that, because with out you guy's I wouldn't have had Mitch or had started my hockey career and met my amazing boyfriend." I start as I Auston then grabs my hand smiles up at me.
"Since i've known Mitch my whole life, I learned that he might look like a man right now, but he is still a boy at heart." I say and everyone laughs along with me.
"When Mitch first showed me Steph, I was very surprised he had other friends that are girls other than me. But soon enough, Steph and I became the closest friends and the two also started to get very close. I then noticed that Mitch and Steph were madly in love with each other. And It was such an honor to see each steps of your relationship as we all grow up together and learn the ways of adulthood." I say as I start to tear up.
"I never thought I would see the day that Mitch finally grows a pair and marries Steph. But here we are, and I'm a crying mess." I say as tears fall down my face and everyone laughs at my joke.
"But everyone is now Done waiting for them to be husband and wife, and I Can't wait to see the rest for their still growing relationship. And a few kids might I add." I say and everyone laughs.
"Steph has been like a sister figure to me, actually scratch that, she is my sister. If any of you know me, my goal is to always make someone happy. And that is all I saw with her and Mitch, so I guess you can say I achieved my goal, but they exceeded that goal. They are in love and they are happy, and that's all I wanted for the two of them. To Mitch and Steph, my family." I say as I lift up my glass and everyone takes a sip. By the end of my speech, Steph was in full out tears and Mitch was just tearing up.
After the speeches, it was time for the bouquet toss. All the unmarried girls then walk out to the dance floor and Steph goes out in front of us. Before Steph turns around she looks at me and winks. She then turns her back to the group.
Steph then throws the bouquet back and It goes directly to me, which I catch. Everyone then cheers and starts looking towards Asuton. We all then head back to our tables and I take a seat beside Auston.
"Hey, it's a sign." I tell him and he laughs.
"I guess so." Auston says as he grabs my free hand and places a quick kiss on my hand.
