My dad cleared his throat. "Well well well, look at what a sorry excuse of s tribute we have here." He smirked at his own comment
I heaved a sigh. Man I'm not trying to hear this shit today. So I easily came up with a slick comeback. "Well I don't see your lazy ass doing anything except drinking, smoking, and trying to fuck MY mom, not your sex toy." I said. Now who has the upper hand?
I'm guessing he didn't like my comment at all because as soon as the last word left my mouth, I found myself pinned against the wall with a pair of burly hands around my neck. My mom rushed over and tried to pry off my dad's strong grip. Min Holly joined in on the action by bitting dad ankle, which only caused him to shriek in pain and kick Min Holly off his bitten ankle. Seeing Min Holly get kicked to the corner brought out a lot of strength and anger in me to the point I was able to push my dad off and punch the hell out of him.
The peacekeepers must've finally caught up with the commotion in the bursted inside, one of them holding my dad back while two of them held me back. My mom took that as a chance to scoop up Min Holly in her arms and run back to the corner of the room.
"What the hell is going on in here!?" A voice said angrily from the hallway. Sangnim then appeared in the doorway with a group of peacekeepers trailing behind her. She didn't look to happy when she saw the state we were currently in. Oh and did I forget to mention that Ms. Wanna-be-bitch-ass was right behind her with a smudge smirk on her face. Oh how I want to fucking smack it off her face.
"My apologies Ms. Han. We got a little out of control with our argument. Didn't mean to take it too far. It won't happ-"
"I WANT THAT KID DEAD. LOOK AT WHAT HE DID TO MY FACE. KILL HIM. RUN HIM OVER WITH A TRACTOR. CUT HIS DICK OFF. I DON'T CARE JUST GET HIM OUT OF MY MOTHER FUCKING SIGHT."
Everyone froze and stared at him like he was another species. And it honestly felt that way too. How can God create a man so disrespectful and derogatory? It's beyond me. To makes matter worst, he takes his anger out on like we are his punching bags or test monkeys of some sort. It's like he has no heart or soul in his body. But then again, what am I supposed to expect from a man who drinks nonstop and doesn't give a shit about his family. So in all honesty, I'm not surprised at all. Hurt but not surprised.
Sangnim looked at my dad in sheer disgust and ordered the peacekeepers to take him away. Once the room was silent, Sangnim spoke up again
"Well looks like it's about time for us to leave. We are supposed to be at the capitol by tomorrow and I don't want us to arrive later than 10 am. So let's go. The tribute train is waiting!!!" As she walked out with Shiseo still trailing behind her. That left just me, my mom, and Min Holly. I gave them a proper goodbye speech, telling them to be safe while I'm gone and to eat healthy also and ended it with a small kiss on each of their foreheads.
I caught up with Sangnim and Chiseo to board the tribute train. Cameras, lights, and just people crowed our path to the train making it hard to even walk. But through out the sound of cameras snapping pictures of us and the voices of idiots trying to ask questions like they think we'll answer, I heard a sound too familiar for me not to know what it was.
It was the barking of Min Holly.
I stopped in my tracks and looked behind me to find my favorite Welsh Corgi running my way. It made me smile. This dog is literally my life. He's stuck with me through thick and thin, never leaving my side. I can't really ask for a better friend. And I'm sure Min Holly felt the same because he started licking my face, again, and I started to laugh, AGAIN.
A chain of "awws" and "cute" erupted from the crowed, ruining he moment. I rolled my eyes at them. Damn they're so annoying. I petted Min Holly's furry head and gave him a soft smile before saying good bye for the last time. I walked away leaving Min Holly whimpering alone. And trust me, it hurt so much that it actually felt like a knife piercing my heart.
Sangnim stopped me in my tracks once I approached the train. I gave her a questioning and annoyed look. Sangnim sighed and started to explain. "You and your friend fav have a close relationship with each other. After seeing what happened with your dad, I couldn't help but feel sorry for you. Having a relatio-"
"Get to the point" I interrupted.
"I'm allowing you to bring Min Holly with you to the capitol for the Hunger Games."
