"Should I still eat? I just brushed my teeth so no need for that." You mumbled as you faced yourself in the mirror, smoothing out the creases from your uniform. You wanted it to be crisp on the first day of school, you woke up kind of early just so you could get there on time, you combed your hair one last time as you sighed.
Your eyes settled on your wrist, there laid the bracelet you worn since you were about nine years of age and you were going to turn eighteen this year, you smiled in pain as memories rushed in your head. You tried to look away from the simple bracelet, you tried to get yourself together as you got your bag and headed out of the house.
"Why do you need to leave?" You cried out as your hands had clutched his clothes, tears flowing down as he looked at the ground, "I need to, remember? My dad found a job in Seoul, I need to leave Busan." He quietly responded and by this age you couldn't understand everything, you weren't even ten, of course you were emotional.
"When will you come back?" You asked as you choked on your tears, at least having some kind of hope, he looked into your eyes as he sighed. "Appa didn't tell me when." He said as he looked at you with teary eyes, "But you- you can't just leave hometown." You said, trying to fight back the tears.
"I have to, even if I don't want to." He said and you kept crying, you could feel your hands weakening and your heart hurting, "I know we'll meet each other again though, never lose that bracelet, that's the only thing I'll remember you by, and the only thing you'll remember me by." He said and you looked at him.
"There are millions of these, it's no use." You said, finally giving up the hope, "No, don't say that, these may be simple looking but what hangs here are puzzle pieces, we've each got a piece, remember we bought these, custom made by pair, the Ahjussi said that only the pairs will get to connect when put together." He said with a smile, showing a toothy grin. You looked up.
"Don't forget me and I won't forget you."
You smiled as the metal puzzle piece from the bracelet kept dangling as you walked, you couldn't help but remember that certain memory every time you looked at the simple bracelet, you breathed in as you entered the school, everything seemed so unfamiliar and you got nervous. You pursed your lips as you remembered the orientation that was given for new students.
You made your way to the office that they had mentioned, you gulped as you saw a lady a few years above you, who looked like she was arranging something behind the desk. "E-excuse me, I'm here to get my time table, I'm a new student, Kim Y/n?" You said and she looked at you, she flashed you a light smile.
"You're still quite early, I guess you have more time to find your classroom, but if you do have a hard time, you can easily ask the students around." She said with a soft tone, you nodded as you smiled, accepting your time table and bowing as you exited the office, feeling light shouldered as you successfully got your schedule and what not.
You weren't that great with directions but everything seemed easy as you remembered everything from the orientation, you smiled as you entered your home room classroom, seeing as students were already talking to someone, your lips stayed in a flat line as you went to an empty seat.
You noticed how everybody started to lessen their conversations as the teacher swiftly made her way inside the room, settling her things on her table, she gave the class a gentle smile and had bowed, "I'm your home room teacher, Ms. Jung, now I heard we have a transferee in the class, Kim Y/n-ssi, could you introduce yourself?" She asked and you gulped, slowly standing up.
Hearing whispers and mumbles as you straightened yourself, not really negative comments but you were still anxious, "Annyeonghaseyo, I'm Kim Y/n, please treat me well." You said as you gave a small smile and bowed, "Yeppeuda~" A boy commented as the class grew noisier, you sat down and tried to hide your flushed cheeks.
"Please be quiet Mr. Wang, anyway, welcome to School of Performing Arts Seoul." She said as she smiled at you, you bowed your head to be polite, you felt a poke on your shoulder. Your eyes traveled to the person and found a boy giving you a cute grin, "Hey, I'm you're seat mate, the name's Jinyoung, Park Jinyoung." He softly said as he waved slightly, making you chuckle as you smiled at him.
