11/9/13

Today was just another day in the life of Jack and Maddy here in Parkville, Maryland. Sitting around the house looking like bums, trying to find fun things to do.

I was sitting on the island in the kitchen and Jack was sitting at the table in the dining room, only a few feet away. I hopped off and almost fell because my socks were so fuzzy. I realized how easy it was to slide on the hardwood floor with these socks.

"You alright?" Jack laughed.

I laughed back and sprinted across the kitchen and stopped. My socks took me gliding across the floor. I felt like a child, but I was so fucking bored.

"You're such a little kid." Jack laughed.

"Join me." I said, "It's so fun."

I watched him set his phone down then sprint towards me and glide across the floor. We laughed and kept sliding around on the floor like the big children we really are.

After a good ten minutes, we were both worn out. "Damn, I'm outta shape." I laughed catching my breath.

He nodded in agreement and we decided to go walk around the forest outside of our house.

We went upstairs and got dressed.

I slid on a pair of light pink skinny jeans, a grey sweater, grey ugg boots, a white scarf with these flower designs and slid on a white pair of gloves knowing it's kinda chilly. I kept my glasses on and put my hair in a pony tale then turned to Jack and threw him a pair of gloves.

We headed outside to the forest and he held my hand and guided me. Autumn was always one of my favorite seasons. I just adored the way the trees looked. The colors were so beautiful and I just loved it. We found ourselves at a little pond. There were a couple logs set up infront of the pond.

Jack sat down on one and patted the spot next to him. I sat down next to him and he wrapped his arm around my waist.

"This should be our little hide out." I stated.

"I was just thinking the same thing." He kissed my temple.

"Next time we come out here we're bringing our guitars and having a jam session." I smiled.

He nodded.

"I have a better idea." Jack stood up. I watched him walk over to the nearest tree. He looked at me and motioned for me to join him.

"Uh, I don't know if I'm comfortable climbing a tree." I said, watching him start to climb it.

He pulled himself up to the sturdiest branch and looked down at me. He was about ten feet off the ground.

"You're fine." He smiled, "Come on."

I sighed and climbed up. I sat next to him and he smiled at me. "That wasn't so bad, was it?"

"What if I fall." I said looking down.

He wrapped his arm around my waist again. "You'd probably break-"

"Jack."

He smirked and kissed my cheek. "You really think I'd let you fall?"

"I dunno." I said before kissing moving in to kiss his nose. But he moved his face so I kissed his lips instead. I smiled into the kiss before pulling away.

"Wow, cheater." I laughed and bit my lip.

"God, you're so perfect." He whispered and then looked off at the pond.

I smiled and set my head on his shoulder. "I love you."

"I love you too." He said quietly.

We were sitting out here for quite some time, before Jack said, "We should head back now before it gets dark."

I nodded and we got off the tree. He held my hand and guided me out of the forest. When we made it out, I suggested, "We should camp out there during the summer."

"With all the guys." He smiled, "That'd be awesome."

I nodded and we walked back inside.

I woke up and the first thing I noticed when I got out of bed was the layer of snow on the ground. I smiled to myself before tugging on an old high school hoodie and walking down stairs.

I started the coffee pot and felt a fuzzy creature attack my legs. I laughed and bent down to pet the new puppy Jack and I got last week. It's a Shar Pei / Beagle mix. picture to side.

Jack insisted we name her Kevin McCallister. You know, from Home Alone.

"Please Maddz! It's our movie! We have to."

"Jack. The dog is a girl." I said for about the thousandth time that night.

But we finally agreed on Bella, meaning beauty in Italian. And it just fit her.

"Hey, Bell." I pet the energetic puppy. I sat on the ground and threw her toy across the room, she chased after it and brought it back to me. I sat here playing fetch until I heard the coffee beep behind me.

I poured myself a cup, adding in some sweatener and shit. I threw my hair into a pony tale before starting a fire in the fireplace and sitting on the floor next to Bella's dog bed. I took a sip of my coffee and set it on the coffe table.

I grabbed my acoustic guitar and watched the snow pack on the ground outside. I strummed a couple chords before starting to play the actual song.

I plucked the stings for the song She Is Love by Parachute.

I started to sing to myself, "I've been beaten down. I've been kicked around. But she takes it all for me. And I lost my faith. In my darkest days. But she makes me want to believe."

I watched Bella lay down in her bed and sang to her.

"They call her love, love, love, love, love, love." I sang twice and went on with the rest of the song.

When I strummed the last chord I heard clapping behind me. I turned around and saw Jack clapping and smirking at me.

I felt my face go red.

"That actually wasn't bad." He said, was a confused look on his face.

"Shush." I said, setting my guitar back on its stand.

He smirked and said, "You ready to go?"

"Go where?"

"We need to find Alex a gift. His birthday is Saturday."

"Oh yeah." I stood up. "I needa change."

He was silent as I walked past him to go upstairs.

On my way up I felt him smack my butt. I laughed and looked at him. He just winked at me and walked into the kitchen.
