Rob POV

At low tide the marina was quiet, only a few people pottering around in the distance on the piers that jutted into the deep blue water of the harbour. Rob sat on the wooden bench overlooking the bay, glad of the peace. His heart thundered and his head ached, plus he had a weird, spacey feeling that might have been part hangover, part complete and utter shock. He had a Daughter Fucking hell, I'm a father.

Leaning forward, he rested his elbows on his knees and clasped his hands, struggling to control his panic. Thoughts whirled around his head, and a hundred different emotions knotted his stomach.
Why hadn't they warned him? And more importantly, why had Kristen never told him she'd fallen pregnant?
Perhaps it wasn't his. She could just be saying that. They'd used condoms for Christ's sake.

And yes, they'd used condoms, but he remembered vividly that the time they'd spent together before he left had been incredibly passionate and... energetic. It wouldn't totally shock him to find out one of the condoms had split during their enthusiastic lovemaking.

What the hell did he know about fatherhood? It was something as alien to him . He didn't want the responsibility or did he Certainly not at the moment, with all the other problems he had to contend with. True, it didn't appear as if Kristen needed anything from him. Maybe she didn't want him to play a part in the Childs life at all. Or maybe she did.

He gritted his teeth, angry at the unfairness of the situation and his conflicting emotions.
His fingers tightened into fists in his hair. At that moment he hated her with a passion, and he gasped at the fierceness of the emotion.

Kristen POV

What the fuck just happened ?

He walked out on me?

I send Mark to go looking for him.

Mark came back in. "He's gone for a walk down to the marina." He shoved his hands in his pockets. "He said he'll be back later."
This was a big mistake?.
Her throat began to tighten again. This is why i didn't want to tell him?.
"He will come around " Mark said
"He's probably thinking that she's not he's?"
"You don't know that Kristen " Mark said

(2 hours later )

After Mark left I made my way up the stairs, and slept in Clary room.
You know Clary , your daddy loves you, he just doesn't know how to show it, But he does love you. I don't think he knows what its like to love something so much, and he's scared because he feels that way for you. But I promise you baby, that one day, he will be your daddy. I promise.

I kissed Clary's forehead, and cried into her.

Rob POV

The next morning
"Everyone knows what's best for me," he said bitterly. He turned to face her then, his eyes hard. He took a long swig of the whisky as his eyes ran down her and then back up. "Including you." Uh-oh. "Rob ..." "I'm sick of everyone making decisions for me. Why does everyone want to control me?" "It's not about controlling you." She started to wish she hadn't tried to get him to talk. "Oh really?" Impatience flooded her. "It's not always about you." "So you didn't tell me about the our daughter because you thought it would be best for Clary not to have a father?" "Of course not!" She tried to rein in her anger. "Look, you're upset and angry, I understand that. Maybe You should go and we can talk about this later..." "No." He set his jaw. "you wanted to talk. Let's talk."

He hesitated, not sure how to put his pain into words. "I still can't believe you didn't tell me you were pregnant." He moved a bit closer, noting the tanned, smooth skin of her throat and collarbone above her hot pink vest, . "We made another person, Kristen How could you keep that from me?"
She swallowed, but kept her gaze on his. "You made it very clear when you left that you didn't want nothing do with me.?
I like I said before you gave up that right.

"Even so." Irrationally, resentfulness and jealously rose inside him that she'd chosen the course of action without taking his wishes into account. "It was an incredibly selfish thing to do." "Selfish?" Puzzlement morphed on her face into incredulousness. "I did it for you!"
