Why am I even here?

As we charged at the dead, I sent a fireball at a swordsman. He deflected the ball with his shield, but it melted a hole through it. I jumped over his shield, and sliced his head off. I turned to another enemy.

"NO!"

A quick reaction from me caused the deadly blade to scrape my sides. Blood trickled down my side, and I turned to see the boney turd that I had just 'killed' re-adjust his head.

I realized that I would have to make a permanent change to his form to kill him.

I kicked his head, as he raised his shield. My foot went through it and his head popped off, but my ankle was definitely broken. I sent a flame at him, and he dissolved into ash.

I turned around, and an arrow flew towards me, I sliced my sword through the air, and the arrow soared to the ground. I limped slowly towards the archerer, deflecting arrow after arrow. I transformed my weapon into my own bow, set an arrow on fire and launched it through the air, ducking his latest shot.

He burnt to the ground, and I turned to Percy. He was dueling a boney mass with the mace, two piles of ash around him. He whacked his sword on its head, and it crumpled.

Suddenly, I felt immense pain. I dropped to the ground, and screamed. I felt an arrow lodged in my shoulder. I pulled it out, but all it did was increase the pain. All I could hear was a loud ringing.

Slowly, the pain subsided. I could slightly feel the blood oozing out of my body, and could hear Percy calling my name.

"I'm- I'm Ok. Just treat Leo" I gasp.

"No, your badly-"

"I don't care, just go!" I yell. He nods, and rushes over to Leo.

I wait until my vision clears more, and then sit up. Ashes were around us. Nothing was here. All of the skeletons were dead.

I'm a terrible quest leader. I failed to retrieve the information Hera warned me about. I'm a failure. Now we're all going to die.

I inch over to Leo. He's shuddering, and not awake. Percy's pouring some nectar on him, but it barely does anything.

"It-it'll wear off" I hear a whisper so soft I barely heard it. I frown, and look at Percy.

"This is terrible. How?" He asks. I think about what would happen if this happened to Percy, If we got stuck in the Lotus Casino...

"The flowers!" I exclaim, then clap my hand over my mouth. Don't need anymore acid-breathing creatures right now. Percy's eyes widen, and start feeling around his body.

"No, no. The ones that that guard chucked. It was meant for you"

He just sits there, thinking. "And then-"

"You might have been stuck in there".

We agree that we're going to stick to camping, and lift Leo up carefully. We walk over to a forest clearing, and set up a temporary camp to wait for Leo's health.
