Sitting around the campfire the group had seemed to get used to Jon being around, all except Tommy.

He was skeptical about the boy, he didn't know whether or not he could be trusted. When nick came around he instantly welcomed him into the group with open arms, only because he was Ashlie's brother. If he and the group had just meant nick for the first time, he wouldn't have been so come-at-able.

Now that a complete stranger had entered their small group he wasn't sure if he was ready for more heartbreak. They had already lost dawn, if Tommy actually let this guy break down his strong walls he had taken many years to build he'd just end up dieing, and Tommy would be left with a more defective soul than before. Tommy wasn't sure if he was ready for that.

So with a blank mind he just watched the others get along with Jon, he shut everyone out and built even higher walls than before, he wasn't ready to lose another. It'd be easier this way.

At least that's what he'd tell himself.

He's done it many times with his family, so why is it so hard now?

Perchance it was because they were the first people to give him true hope in the five years he's been out here. Yes you heard me right, five years.

Unlike most of the others, Tommy spent the first 2 years alone than he meant Uni and dawn, Ashlie and Cory, and lastly nick. Sure he's meant other people in those two years, but they'd just die right away.

And so when Tommy found Uni and dawn he paid no attention to them, he didn't try to get to know them. He believed they'd just die like the rest, and leave him to suffer everything out alone once more.

But when they returned to the campfire with him he was confused, why hadn't they left yet? He'd been asking himself that for awhile now, he knew it would happen one day, where they'd all just leave him in this pathetic nature, and he was never keen on the idea but he accepted it none-the-less.

Than as time grew on, and the group grew larger, Tommy started to show little hope. He started to break down the wall he took so long to build.

when Dawn died he started to fall back into the abyss of grief.

Yet he held strong, and he tried to look on the brighter side of things. Yet he still wasn't ready to meet another person, to let someone else into his life. Heck the group doesn't even know much about him, he's like an enigma to them. The less they know the less it will hurt when he dies. That's part of the reason he shuts himself away from the group, if he dies it won't be so hard on them, if they die it won't be so hard in him. Yet he made the stupid mistake and broke down part of his wall, it was his fault he grew attached to them, it's his fault he was hurt from dawns death.

He wasn't ready to face the death of another, he wasn't.

And thought the truth was he was close to excepting Jon, until he realized that would be a greater mistake in his part. He wouldn't go through that again, he wouldn't.

_______

Tommy was quick to start looking for someone apart of the group, the map around them was lighter than the rest, it had the usual wood walls and piles of rubble and scarp parts. It had a large broken down boat in the center, smaller boat pieces scattered across the grass. Tommy could only assume they were in for a little surprise.

Sneaking around the boat he tried to spot any sign of movement, anyone. You see tommy was useless on his own. He never knew how to fix the generators, even in his years alone he always relied on someone else to fix them for him.

He didn't see why everyone else was good at such a thing while he had not a single clue.

How did he survive those two years, only God knows--in this case me. (Sorry fourth wall, ;3)

Tommy finally spotted the top of someone's head, only slightly getting a glimpse of green hair before it disappeared in the fog.

'Jon' tommy though, he walked over into his direction, Tommy couldn't afford trying to find someone else, so he'll just have to deal with the male for awhile before they get out, or he dies.

"Heya," Jon says as he sees tommy walking up to him, kneeling beside the generator. The green haired male smiles at the brunette before going back to working on it.

"Hi," Tommy slightly smiles back.

"How about you help me with thi--" Tommy quickly cut him off.

"How about I just keep watch." Tommy quickly says, heads of sweat run down his forehead, 'damn it's really hot here, and the suns not even out'.

"It will go faster with the two of us."

"I'll just keep-"

"You don't know how to fix a generator do you?" Jon exhales slowly before motioning Tommy over, Tommy looks at him and slowly crawls over.

"Come on I'll teach you." Lose words hurt Tommy, he's only ever been told them once, when he first began building his wall. Though I'm afraid that's a story for another time and place.

Tommy watches intently as Jon messes with the wires in the generator. Telling his little tips and tricks to getting it working, Tommy started to open up to Jon.

The damn fool.

The two heard the loud pounding heart beat if the killer they quickly Abandon the generator and hide behind a large boat.

"That was close." Jon murmurs and Tommy only nods, trying to catch his breathe.

"Well, not to worry. I'll teach you how to properly fix a generator later mkay?" Jons wide delighted smile made Tommy feel sick, how could he be happy, perhaps because he hadn't been out here as long as he. Yet the smile was comforting in a way, and Tommy couldn't help but feel himself let Jon inside his walls, even if he handing noticed it yet.

He made yet another mistake.
