Nick rubbed his eyes as he sat behind a large wood wall.

He had never felt this tired before, perhaps he was just too depressed to care.

Nick never bothered to work on a generator, all his hope of freedom went right down the drain as the years progressed and he lost all care for himself.

He wasn't himself anymore. No matter how many times he'd try to go back to those slowly fading memories of before this time he would never be able to get those back. They were gone forever.

Nick clenched his shirt. Teeth strongly pressed together as he tried to hold the tears in.

He shouldn't be crying now, but what was the point.

He tried to tell himself to be strong but all he could do was slowly crumble into dust. It reminded him of a video game he had played once. In the video game you'd play as a character and you could go around killing or saving monsters. The monsters would turn to dust if you killed them.

When you reach the end of the game you could reset it all, and start back at square one.

Nick wished he could reset this all, he wished even though he knows there's nothing he can do.

He felt useless.

Like he couldn't do anything right.

That was when he heard the wails. The wails that belonged non other than to his sister. The person he swore to protect no matter what it takes.

Nick jumped up out of his seated position and sprinted towards the noise. Adrenaline rushes through his vains as worry clouded his mind.

Eventually, Nick had stumbled upon his sister running from a tall woman with a bunny mask. The woman had an axe up and ready to throw.

Ashlie gripped her shoulder as she sprinted, weaving through trees. Nick decided it'd be the best plan of action to direct the killer towards something else, just to get her off Ashlie's trail.

Picking up a stick, Nick banged it against a piece of scrap metal that he also found littered on the ground.

The killer slowly stopped running towards Ashlie and instead turned to face Nick.

Nicks eyes went wide as the killer readied her axe. Quickly jumping out of the way as it impaled a tree behind him. Sprinting off towards the direction Ashlie went. Nick had managed to juke the murderer and escape with his head.

Nick slowly came to a stop as he looked around. Trying to find any noise other than the birds and his heavy breathing.

"Shit-!" Nick sprinted over to the pained voice and sat down beside his sister as she wrapped up her shoulder.

"A-are you alright.." Nick stutters, not sure what to do.

"Yea, it was just a flesh wound after all. A deep flesh wound." Nick nods, but that Didn't subside the concern.

"You don't have to fight this alone.." Nick looked up at Ashlie, confusion littered in his chocolate orbs.

"Huh?"

"We've all had the feeling of being a failure -we've all given up at one point, that doesn't mean we can't find that hope again."

Nick stared at his sister. She had been through so much, way more than he has. Yet she was still trucking, she was truly the strongest one out of the both of them.

"I might not know what's going through your head right now but it's ok to let it out. It won't do you any good to keep it bottled up inside. Trust me I know from experience." Ashlie smiled sadly at her brother.

Nicks could feel the tears slowly threatening to fall from his eyes. He was feeling something he hadn't felt in awhile.

"It's ok to cry." Ashlie put her hands on nicks cheeks. Her smile never failing.

Nick was feeling comfort.

He had failed to realize that he never gave up on hope in the first place, because Ashlie was his hope. His dear little sister was all he had in this world and if he gave up he'd be giving up on her.

So Nick did something that the two hadn't shared in awhile, and he hugged her.

He hugged her the same way she hugged him in her times of struggle.

Gripping the back of her shirt tightly as he sobbed, making sure to keep as quiet as he could.

Ashlie sure as hell was shocked, but returned the hug in the end. Wrapping one arm around nicks back, rubbing softly. While her other arm stayed out in front of her, her hand curled against nicks shirt.

Ashlie could even feel the tears brim her eyes at the sight of her brother. She had grown to know Nick as the strong one, the one who lead the group alongside Cory and most importantly her only brother. She cared for him deeply and she knew that feeling was returned. Nothing could break this bond the two shared, not even death.

Tears stained Ashlie's shirt as her brother cried into her shoulder. Though she didn't care.

It takes a lot of courage to cry in front of others, And that to Ashlie was the greatest strength.
