[so there's a new killer out- fuck no waY I'm going to add him. I'm not dragging this plot out any longer than I already have]
"Where's Adam and decilley?" The question had lingered between the group for awhile before it slowly died down as uni spoke up.
"I saw him head to the other exit. I'm guessing decilley was in front of him." The group sat in silence from that point forward. It never once crossed their minds that maybe their friends were dead, Which was the case. But they hadn't known that, and they never will know that.
______
"I wonder what new terror awaits us today." Nick had muttered under his breath as the familiarity of a Suburban setting dawned upon him.
He was in a neighborhood.
Slight joy filled his brain until he saw the burning fire, crackling against a police car.
"Too good to be true." He muttered. Crouching close to the dirt as he listened for the raging heart beat.
Once confirming that it was safe, he ran of in the direction he had seen a generator.
As he worked on said generator he couldn't help but feel like his skin was crawling. As if someone was watching him; waiting.
No matter how many times he tried to shake off the feeling it wouldn't go away.
Not until it was too late and the cold touch of red blood dripped its way down his back.
His mind full of panic and his heart pounding against his skull.
Why hadn't he heard the heart beat.
When did the killer sneak up on him and how did he not realize.
His mind blurred and his surroundings seemed to have been swallowed up by black. He didn't even realize he had started running.
The loud ringing of a unfamiliar tune
banged against his ears. And he knew it couldn't be good.
______
Shit shit shit shit!
Ashlie's mind screamed as she was face to face with the killer upon entering the world.
Why the hell was he so close??
Her heart raced as her eyes frantically looked for any sign of the blackened. She wasn't panicking because she was almost killed by the killer.
In fact, she was pretty sure he was way slower than the others.
It was the fact that she couldn't hear him. The killer didn't have a heartbeat and she couldn't help but feel even more terror stricken then when facing the huntress.
She had to find the others. She needed the group together because who knew what other ability this killer could possess.
It was truly a terrifying thought.
She decided it would be best to stick to the walls. Behind the trees and various bushes and houses.
This was a neighborhood after all, and that means lots of hiding spaces. If she happened to run into him she could just dive under a bush or a car and hope he didn't see her.
But she worried it would be too late. If she couldn't hear the killers heartbeat there was no way she would know if he was sneaking up on her at this very moment.
Shivers travel down her spine as her head whipped every direction. Terror clear in her blurred vision.
So Ashlie continued to travel the walls of the neighborhood in search of her friends.
As if a giant speaker rang over the void, a loud unsettling tune played.
It was nothing like the huntress' humming. It was more uncomfortable than that to say the least. It was familiar yet at the same time unnerving in every way possible.
And she knew it didn't mean good.
_______
Nick hurled over a fence and ran towards the door to one of the houses.
He could feel the eyes of the killer on him and he had to suppress as many shivers in discomfort at the thought.
His mind raced with thoughts such as-
Why didn't the killer have a heart beat before, but now it won't stop pounding against my ears?
What was that tune?
Why is he staring??
Nick knew these questions couldn't be answered. But he couldn't help himself from being curiously frightened. This was the first time encountering a killer that he didn't find out their power right away.
He was worried he wouldn't ever find out until it was too late.
Nevertheless he pushed past boxes and various objects that littered the floor of the house and pushed down as many panels as there were, until he heard the raging heart beat fade from his ears.
Taking a moment behind a car to recollect himself, he breaths deeply and listens. Wincing as the slash on his shoulder burns.
And then the tune rang out again.
_____
Cory knew a lot of things.
With his time being in the wasteland he had picked up on every killers weakness, and he manipulated them.
He had always been good at reading people. Knowing who to avoid and who was safe to talk to.
It wasn't until After his failed relationship in high school, (when his girlfriend cheated on him) had he taken the time to closely inspect people. To make sure he wouldn't get hurt again.
You could say he was always on guard.
And now here in the wasteland, the ability became more useful than before.
Cory had picked up that the killer watched his victims, before making a move. He had witnessed this with Nick, and Ashlie. All while hiding behind a car. As selfish as it seems to watch your friends run in terror from a killer while you hide away, Cory knew they could take care of themselves.
Like sister, like brother.
So as Cory watched he noticed that the killer never made a move on either of them. No matter how close he was to the victim he only watched. Not until the unsettling tune rang through corys ears.
Cory had noticed the killer pick up his knife a little. He was quicker with his movements and walked about the same pace as all the other blackened.
And he had a heart beat.
Before Cory couldn't hear his heart beat at all, but now that the killer has played its tune the heart beat came.
Cory decided he'd call this, phase two.
He hopes that there was no phase three. But he was utterly wrong in that aspect. For the tune rang again.
And the victim was tommy.
