~~~~Livi's POV~~~~
I'm dead. This is the end. They're gonna kill us all. How can we escape? We can't. They have guns to our heads, and he's gonna tell them to pull the trigger. I can feel the tears coming. There's no stopping them from falling. I look at the leader. He's starting to laugh. He's enjoying this?! That sick bastard! I stare him straight in the face with a look of hatred. Forget fear. If I die, I'm taking him with me.
He turns his back, and I take the chance. I wriggle free of the man's hold and attempt to take his gun. I was so close, but he punches me in the face and gets full control of the gun. He pushes me down. By now, the leader has turned around once again to see me on the ground. "Really?" he says. "I thought you were more clever than that." The man who had hold of me points his gun to my forehead and is about to pull the trigger. "NO!" I hear from behind me. I don't want to turn around to see who it is, but I can recognize the voice; it's Alan.
"Hold on," the leader says. "Don't shoot her now, but if she tries any more stupid shit like that again, don't hesitate." He begins walking towards Alan. Alan is doing exactly what I tried to do, but the masked man that has the gun to his head is much larger than mine, so he doesn't have to fight back as much. "Let go of him," the leader says calmly. The masked man obliges, and the leader grabs Alan by the arm and orders me to my feet. "Phil, watch the others," he says. The masked man who was holding the gun to my head nods.
The leader takes me and Alan around the building and leads us to a black van. He opens the back doors and throws us in. He shuts the doors. Alan and I can't see a thing. We hear the doors rattle, and then they stop. Alan finds his way to the doors and tries to open them. "They aren't moving," he says. "He probably placed a stick or something between the handles, so they wouldn't open." Alan grunts in agreement.
"Why would you do that?" he asks me. "Why would I do that?! Why would you try to do that?!" I yell back.
"He was gonna shoot you!"
"You're lucky he didn't shoot both of us!!"
We sit in silence for a while until we hear footsteps heading our way. We hear the doors of the other van open and something being thrown in. I can only imagine that it's the other members of the group. I think about Java and Ethan and how they're probably worried to death about me. Here come the tears again. How could I be so stupid?! Why did I even think that I could kill him?! "I'm such an idiot!" I say out loud. I feel Alan wrap his arms around me, but I shove him off of me. "I deserve to be alone! They should've killed me while they had the chance!"
"Don't say that!" Alan raises his voice at me. He's never done that before. "Look, I'm sorry. Just don't talk like that. I don't want to lose another person who actually means something to me."
"I mean something to you?" I say as I wipe away the tears streaming down my face.
"Of course you do! Livi, you're beautiful, smart, sweet, and so much more."
"Alan," I start, but I'm unable to because someone bangs on the back doors of the van. The van begins to move. "Alan," I say. "I'm scared. What if they kill us?" Alan responds in a soft voice, "If they were gonna kill us, they would've done it back there."
"I guess you're right."
"Now, what were you going to say?"
"I was going to say that I feel the same way. You have something that Nick didn't have, but I can't put my finger on it. I think you're more down to earth. You speak your mind, and you don't care what people think about you." I lean in to kiss him, but we hit a bump, and I fall on top of him. We both let out a slight chuckle.
