Going Back |Episode 104|

~~~~Livi's POV~~~~

Images flash through Livi's head that night. Images of her friendship with Nick. Then the long moment that was Nick's death played over and over again in her dream. No, Livi tried to scream out at Nick when the arrow comes flying through the broken window. NO!! She screams over an over until she finally wakes up screaming "no."

Java bursts through the door after hearing Livi's screams. Great, Livi thinks. Now he must think I'm psycho or something.

"Hey! Are you okay," Java asks.

"Yeah. Just nightmares," Livi replies.

"Okay," Java says as he starts to head for the door.

"Wait," Livi calls after him. "Can you stay for a minute? I need someone to talk to."

"Sure."

Java takes a seat down on the empty bed spot next to Livi.

"So," Java says. "What do you need to talk about.

Livi sits up in bed. "Well, I just need to talk about what happened today," Livi tells Java.

"Oh," Java says, looking sort of shocked. Suddenly he looks on the verge of crying. "Nightmares about that? I got 'em too. Don't worry. Things will soon fall back into place and that will be something we leave behind us later on. We'll fight through."

Suddenly, Livi feels like Java and her are very close. They'd always felt close from the moment they met. But Livi feels like she's closer to him now than she ever was in the past. She feels like she can really express herself to him. Something she never had the guts to do to anyone except Nick.

"You wanna take a walk with me tomorrow morning," Livi asks.

"Sure, that seems fun," Java replies. "But for now just get some sleep."

And with that Java left the room very silently, leaving Livi alone once again. She lets her head fall back down on the bed and closes her eyes. Before she knows it, she's asleep.

Livi awakes because someone is pounding on her door. Her initial first reaction was to suspect something bad, so she immediately jumped out of bed and ran to the door. "What's wrong?!" she shouts once she opens the door.

"Nothing!" Java replies at the door laughing. "I just thought you might wanna take that walk now."

"Oh! Yeah, uh, of course! Just give me one minute."

"Okay."

Livi walks back into her room and grabs the picture of her and Nick. She looks at it for about a minute and then rips the picture into pieces. Livi thinks about what Java said the night before,Things will soon fall back into place and that will be something we leave behind us later on. "Looks like things are falling back into place already," Livi whispers to herself as she fake smiles.

Livi walks back to the door and reassures herself. Trying to fight back tears, she opens the door. Java smiles at her. Livi smiles back and they both walk towards the door of the base very silently.

On the way to the door, they see Ethan who looks like he just woke up. Ethan says, "Where are you two going?"

Livi replies, "Me and Java are going to take a walk."

"Okay, just be careful."

As they walk out the door they begin talking and laughing. Livi has her mind off of Nick for a while.

As they draw towards the end of their walk, they see something in the distance.

"Do you see that?" Java asks.

"Yeah. Um, we should probably start heading home now," Livi replies.

"Aw come on! You know you want to check it out!"

Livi notices that the strange figure they see is a giant base. The base looked an awful lot like the one Nick died in. This is why Livi doesn't want to go in.

Livi shakes her head as a response.

"Please?" Java begs.

"Fine," Livi says as she rolls her eyes.

"Yes!" Java replies.

As they reach the base, they look into the windows. They notice a huge group of survivors. Livi and Java both look at each other with wide eyes.

Livi says, "Can we go back now?"
