"How do they keep getting through our defenses?" I growl, punching the nearest wall.

This has been the fifth ambush in a week! One week! I had speculations, but I couldn't be one hundred percent sure.

"I want the patrols doubled until we get to the bottom of this! Someone is giving out our information!" I growl, glaring at everyone in the room.

Everyone nods before quickly squirming out, but before a certain witch can make it out, I have her pinned up against the wall with my forearm pressed to her throat. The sound of Adam growling comes from behind me, but I can tell Minho is holding him back, only to keep Adam from me. He doesn't know why I attacked Celine though.

"How are you telling them about us?" I snarl, pressing her farther into the wall as she gasps for breath.

Adam's growls get louder from behind me, but I ignore him, focusing on the skinny witch in front of me.

"w-what are...you talking a-about?' she chokes out.

"You know what I'm talking about. Ever since you came here, we have been attacked over and over again! I am tired of losing my pack to the humans. Ever since you have come into our lives we have lost over half of our pack! Do you think I'm fucking stupid. You're either of great value of them to cause all of this, or you are working with them. Or maybe you are both. So tell me!" I snarl, slamming her into the wall, cracking the drywall of the office.

"I- I don't h-have any p-part in this," she mumbles, but fear shines clear in her eyes.

"Stop lying to me!" I snarl, but an thrown off by an invisible force and slammed into the far wall, braking the dry-wall.

I jump up as fast as possible with a growl before charging Celine., but she sends an invisible force to my head while mumbling incoherent words. Blood drips from the corners of my eyes and my nose as I collapse to my knees.

"You want to protect your family and I get that, but I am protecting mine,' she says flatly, her eyes flicking over to Adam who is lying on the floor with a bloody nose. "Unfortunately we can't both get what we want!"

With a vicious roar I shift, ignoring the fire that spreads through my body as I charge at her. I manage to sink my claws into her side, knocking her to the ground as blood seeps out of her shirt. My front paws snap, causing me to fall forward with a loud yelp. I hear Minho shouting, but it's followed by a crash.

I look up as Celine rises to her feet and stares down at her, placing a hand against my chest. I growl at her, but can't move. I trained for humans and other shifters. I can take down anything, but not a witch. I don't know how to fight against magic.

"I'm sorry it has to be this way. I actually like you, but I have to save my family," she says, before removing my hand.

Pain flares through my body, outward from where she touched my chest. I manage to move my head enough to see black spreading over my fur, turning the beautiful red color into pitch-black, leaving a painful trail. I whimper and thrash around, but it's no use. I fall limp as the darkness forces me to shift back into my human form.

"I'm sorry," Celine mumbles, placing a kiss to Adam's forehead, before pressing her palm to his forehead.

His skin doesn't turn black or change, his eyes just roll into the back of his head, making him unconscious.

"I didn't want to have to do this, but she left me no choice. Spend her last few minutes with her before she passes," I hear Celine say before a cloud of black smoke spreads over everything.

Before I can process what's happening. Celine is gone and Minho is leaning over me, bloody and crying. He moves a hand to the side of my face, his tears falling down.

"Please don't leave me, Ava! Why didn't you tell me about your speculations! I could have been more prepared, I could have stopped it," he sobs, lifting me up into his lap.

"I...I d-didn't know...u-until s-she ad...admitted t-to it," I breathe, smiling up at him. "I l-love y-you Minho. N-nothing...n-not even d-death will...change that. T-thank you...for being m-my mate," I manage to get out as my own ears slip from me eyes.

"I love you Ava, please don't leave me. I can't live without you," he sobs, pressing the blackened palm of my hand to his cheek as he cries uncontrollably.

"Y-you h-have too. Kill t-them all and s-save our p-pack...live a-as long a-as you can...then I-I will see y-you a-again. I- love you," I say one last time, before darkness overcomes me and everything else fades.
