Jack the Giant Slayer

Chapter 1: Plot

A long time ago were kings and queens roam the land.

We're legends lived of giants and more in are bound.

Fe, Fi, Fo, Fum

Ask not whence the thunder comes

Ask not whence the herds have gone

Nor why the birds have ceased their song

When coming home don't take too long

For monsters roam in our beyond

I shoved my tiny legs under my blankets and watched my father pull out on of the books from the shelf.

He blew the dusk off the book and into the air and read the title out load.

"The legends of giants"

I watch my father set down the book on the side of my bed.

"Father not again"

His smile turned into a frown as he open up the book.

'With seeds they pulled from a magical pod

The monks grew a pathway to seek out their god

They met with a terrible, grizzly fate

For between heaven and earth was a perilous place

Gantuair, home to a fierce giant race

With a bridge now below them to the world of men

A plague of giants descends

Taking a cue from the riches of kings

They acquire a taste for acquiring things

But the one taste that made them loose all control

Was a taste for the mankind blood, bones and all

King Eric and the monks returned to dark arts

To find some way to rule giant hearts

So they melted one down mixed magic and more

And they crafted a crown unlike any before

As soon as the king took the crown in hand

The giants were slaves to his every command

He sent them back to the place of their birth

Their home now a prison between heaven and earth

Eric severed the link between giants and men

And peace returned to his kingdom again.'

"Or they say" I interrupted

My father cough and begin to read again

'The mystical relics were all that remained

Safe with Eric thought the years the he reigned

And when time came at last for king Eric to sleep

He took the crown and seed with him for permanent keep

And as the kings bones slowly crumble away

Truth became legend or so people say.'

My father shut the book and set it down

"That wasn't so bad was it Alexandra"

I sighed and pick up the book

"You forgot a part"

I opened the book to the last couple of pages and read out load

'And jealous eyes are looking down

On the peaceful fields in our beyond

And enemy fouls will come a day

When giants return and giants stay

To wage a war and this time win

And eat the last of Eric's kin.'

I closed the book and placed it back to its place on the bed.

"Alex I want you to remember the good parts not the bad" he breath

I traced the letters on the cover of the book and counted to listen

"I know father as you always say we're noble blood"

He nodded his head and pick up the book and placed it back into the dusty shelf.

"I don't know how many time I have to tell you but your mother would be proud of you the way you've grown"

I nodded my head and laid back putting my head on the pillow.

Father blew out every last candle and shut the door.

When the light from under the door disappeared I jumped out of bed and ran to the window.

I watch the stars light up the town that led to the castle. And watch men guard their king and queen for nights rest.

When morning light shined threw the window the sound men at work filled the room.

Father was gone to never return he left nothing but an old chain. Leaving nothing behind other then his pressures Alex.
