Chapter 3: Magic Beans

Isabelle's point of view:

Elmont and the guards carried me back to the chaste. It was the seventh time I left with out my fathers permission. He wasn't very keen on me leaving the chaste ever since my mothers death.

The guards guarding the ball room opened the door and I stepped in with Elmont and Crawl, and some other guards. The maids ran in behind me and took off my cloak and carried it away. "I'm sorry, Elmont." I said keeping my face forward

Elmont looked at me "Sorry for what princess?"

"Well, I don't mean to make your job so hard all the time. It's just sometimes, I have to get out of here." I replied

Jack's point of view

I sat at the kitchen table in front of my uncle. The beans that brother Abel gave me where laid out in the middle of the table. My uncle was still processing the story I told him.

"I don't ask for much" He started

He counted "In return for all those years I put food in your belly, clothes on your back, a roof over your head. So, what do I have to show for it BEANS!"

I looked up at him then back at the pile of beans "I'll-I'll take them to the abbey tomorrow and-and we'll tell the monks what happened."

My uncle gave me an angry look "You believe that story?"

I paused and thought about it "Yes,I mean, he was a monk."

My uncle got even angry "Cause he wore a robe? Funny haircut?"

I nodded my head "Yeah. No. I don't know."

My uncle watched me "Monks have no money. There monks! The man robbed you! Jack you have to grow up your 18 years old"

Isabelle's point of view

My father stood in front of me frozen in a pose. He was being drawled by an artist. He couldn't move much but he kept taking. "And I'm not going to be around forever."

The artist turned around and looked at my father "Majesty!"

My father looked at the artist "Oh apparently, I'm not supposed to move."

I looked at the drawing, it should be cheating as he was only copying my fathers reflecting in a mirror. "Seems like cheating." I said

My father ignored my comment "You can't keep running off like this, Isabelle. What if something were to happen to you? Your the future queen Cloister."

I looked at him and sighed "According you, having a king is all that matters."

My father raises his head higher "Iv never any such thing."

"So why force me to marry someone twice my age whom I-I do not love?" I replied

I looked up a Roderick "I'm sorry, Roderick."

He gives me a sad smile but moves back to the same passion he was in before.

"So that's what this is about, hm?" My father says

The artist looks back again "Majesty! please be still."

I look at my father "No it's about your refusal to see that I'm not some fragile, helpless creature."
