Jack the Giant Slayer

Chapter 7: The Edge

Alex's point of view:

The giant fell to the floor making a big crash allowing everything to fall and shake. I lost my grip on the logs climbing down off the counter. When I finally got to the bottom floor my arm was killing me. There was a big red scratch on my arm.

Isabella and Elmont watched as Jack climb off the giants back and headed towards them. He stood huffing and puffing out of breath. Elmont started to walk towards him with jacks knife in hand.

"Well done, Jack. Well done." Elmont said shaking hands with Jack

"Here." Elmont said handing back his knife.

"Thanks." Jack said putting the knife back on this belt.

"Come on. I know the way out of here." Jack said rushing past me and Isabella.

He turned around and looked around the place. "where's Crawe?"

Elmont and Isabella said nothing but looked down at the ground.

"He's gone." Elmont chocked

"I'm sorry." I said not able to say anything else.

I looked down at my arm the scratch it had started bleeding and was killing my arm. I held my arm against my chest and held on to the scratch opening the pain would go away.

"Very well we better get going."Elmont said looking at Jack.

Jack nodded and started walking out near the door.

Elmont stopped when he got close to me and looked down at my arm.

"What happen is your arm all right?" he asked

"Yea just a scratch." I said

"Well let me see." Elmont said placing out his hand.

I placed my arm on his hand and he looked down it.

He touched it and pain ran through my arm.

"Ow." I said pulling my arm back

"Sorry." Elmont said

"It's okay but can it wait until were out of this place." I asked

Elmont nodded his head and I followed Jack.

We stopped walking when we found a river and sat down on the rocks. Isabella and Elmont made a cross out of sticks and said their goodbyes to Crawl.

"What do you thinks gonna happen when we get to the bottom?" I asked

Jack looked up with surprise. "Well I don't know I really never thought about it." He said

I looked back at Elmont and Isabella.

"All done." Jack said removing his hand and grass from my arm.

"No more bleeding." Jack finished

"Thanks." I said getting up.

Elmont stood up and walked towards me and Jack.

He stopped when he faced me.

"I'll go over their." Jack said pointing at nothing but a tree.

When Jack walked away Elmont opened his mouth and closed it again.

"You don't have to say anything." I said

"Crawl was right about one thing before he died." He said

"And that was." I asked

Elmont lowered his arms and leaned in. Soon I could feel his lips leaned against mine. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I wrapped my around his neck. I could feel the sparks in our kiss not wanting to pull away. But sooner or later we would break apart.

We finally broke apart and he leaned his head against mine. We both were breathing heavily but not wanting to break apart. "That I liked you." He whispered into my ear.

He pulled away and headed towards Jack and Isabella who were talking.

"So which way now, Jack?" Elmont asked

"Follow the water. That'll lead us the the edge." Jack replied

We headed off down the water hoping to find the bean stock and climb on home. And we did but we ran into a bigger problem. There was a giant sleeping and in are way.
