Lana's POV
September 14, 2017 • Thursday // 4:39 PM
I walk all the way to the mine site and hike all the way up to peak. On the way, I would see the usual sights; the actual old mining site, a few trees here and there, a lake was somewhere over there... I would sometimes see other people around like a brunette girl wandering around and a raven haired guy lounging on top of a mobile home. They would sometimes notice me and look at me but I just avoid their eyes, scared of their judgement towards me if I look back at them.
I mind my business and reach my usual spot. I sit down and stare into the view. The cool air of September begins to blow into my hair, relaxing my nerves. I patiently wait for the sunset to start but suddenly...
"You do know this is a restricted area, right?" A voice said behind me.
Thinking it was some kind of security guard, I stand up abruptly and awkwardly turn around but only to see a very attractive Asian. It took me a few more moments to realize it was the guy I've been seeing these past few weeks.
"You don't look like a security guard." I cock a brow.
"Maybe because I'm not." He chuckled.
I cross my arms on my chest, "Then who are you to reprimand me?"
"Reprimand? I'm not reprimanding you." He said in his defense.
"You just did."
"I just reminded you, that's all." He said in a such relaxed tone.
Who is this guy?
"You're new in this town aren't you?" He asked.
Oh here we go...
"How would you know if I was?" I replied with a question of my own.
"For starters, I'd recognize you if you weren't a newbie." He side-smirked, "Besides, I've only been seeing you a lot since a few weeks ago."
"I moved here from New York, mid-August." I say.
"You're a city girl, huh. Out of all the places there is in this town... why here?" He asked curiously, taking a few steps around.
I look down on the city and see the lights turn on, one by one. "I like it here. It's quiet. Great view... no one here but me. Just the way I like it. Plus, I like watching the sunset."
"Sunset?" He took a few steps over to my side and took a look at the city below.
"You've lived here for a long time, haven't you?" I pop out a random question.
"All my life. Why?" His head turned to me.
"You've never seen the sunset from here?" I asked, with a little bit of disbelief.
"I never really had time."
"Yet, you're here right now." I said.
He smiled, "I was curious."
"To see the sunset?" I implied.
He corrected me, "To know who the new girl was."
The Asian tilted his head to the side and popped a goofy grin.
I laugh, "You came all the way up here to know my name?"
He replied with another charming smile.
