The after-math of the migraine hit me head on. I was slowly regaining consciousness, need I say against my will, as vivid pictures of the recent events replayed in my head. I attempted to get up, but stopped in my tracks when I felt my bones, ligaments and all slowly regenerating. My body was recovering.
It's about time. I was starting to wonder how long I would have to wait and watch you before you finally woke up. My eyes shot open, scanning my surroundings for the source of the words.
Relax, I'm in your head. I tried to shut the words out, shut the voice out, but it just kept going. This cant be happening. You were a-
Dream. I wish. Unfortunately I'm not. I'm here to stay. We haven't officially met, frankly I think that opportunity fell right out the window during your transformation. That might have been my fault though, oh well. My name is Asher.
Uh, Asher?
Yeah, see thing is I'm a guy. At this point my body was in a lot less pain, so I didn't or better yet couldn't quite stop my body from sitting up right in shock...
What?!
Yes, Casey. As a time devil, you are a male. I guess who ever sent us here thought you'd be better hidden as a female human being animal thing-
Just, just human being will do.
Whatever, anyway, point is since you are slowly turning back into a time devil, it's expected that I now take full control of you body, of course that will only be fully effective once you turn twenty. Don't worry you'll still be around, just not as much. As if that was supposed to be some how comforting.
It felt like my mind was exploding from all this newly found knowledge. I had a ton of questions to ask but for some odd reason I could only focus on one...
Where have you been all this time?
I wish I knew, but I can't seen to recall anything that happened before last-
"Casey?!", Oh oh. I turned my head to look at a completely confused Evelyn. The expression on her face said it all...
"Who are you talking to?"
Evelyn's POV
The words had slipped out of my mouth. A part of me was dying to know the answer, the other part not so much. I had left almost half an hour ago to go and look for blood and this was the sight I was returning to. A less agonized Casey, who was talking to herself. Was this a symptom of the transformation?
"Uh... You're back?"
"Yes, yes I am...", and you didn't answer my question. She was avoiding it, what was up with her?
"Casey... who were you talking to ?"
"You might want to sit down for this one...", my legs immediately fell numb as my body prepared for the worst. I could feel another one of her 'transformation' stories coming up as I pulled the stool around the counter and sat down. She mimicked my actions, looking perfectly fine for someone who had undergone a mid-transformation with no blood.
" I need to know how much you heard."
" Enough to know I was listening to one part of the dialogue, now get on with it!" Did she actually think she had a chance of lying to me?!
"Ok, ok. So I have a second conscious. I thought it was my imagination playing tricks on me, but it looks like he's real-"
"He?!" My eyes widened with surprise when her face went stiff with seriousness... It wasn't a joke.
