Asher.
Silence.
Asher, get up!
Great. So I'm stuck in the shape of this thing and Asher won't get up. Evelyn is curled up on the floor next to the couch in a pool of blood and what's left of the pizza guy are his boxes, and his head. It's sitting on the counter, untouched, as if it was placed there to watch over us... Gross. Who knew Evelyn could be so brutal, even Asher doesn't have that cold a heart.
She had snuck up behind him and sliced his head clean off using his own tail! Just in the nick of time too, or we would've been the pizza guy's snack. How she did it, I have no idea, but I'm glad she did. I can still remember the look on its face as it straddled us, ready to strike. Blood dripping from its mouth. I remember feeling Asher trying to move but not being able to because of the throbbing pain that came from the wound where its teeth had sunk in minutes earlier. I remember closing my eyes, preparing myself to be ripped into pieces as its cold talons traced out the shape of my pharynx. I remember praying to what ever deity is out there to help us bleed to death instead.
What ever deity? Like they would want to help you.
You're awake!
I didn't really have a choice, did I?
Sorry. I just thought-
Exactly! You thought. In case you haven't already noticed Casey, thinking isn't really your speciality...
I was drawn out of my thoughts at the feeling of Evelyn's eyes piercing into my soul. They were wide and fixated on me, like she was contemplating whether or not to freak out. I don't blame her, even I nearly had a heart attack at the sight of...this.
I hadn't transformed back yet, even with Asher up. I couldn't help but entertain the growing fear within me when I tried to think of what this meant. Does this mean I will forever be stuck here as Asher's 'wing man'?
Really, that's your biggest concern?
Pretty much. I'm getting sick of this place and it's critters anyway...
Creatures?
Critters.
Humans?
I said critters!
"Casey," My heart skipped a beat at the sound of Evelyn's voice, but nearly stopped beating all together when Derick began to flinch. Soft moans came from behind the counter with every limb he moved. He was awake, and would soon see me in this state. "You haven't transformed back."
"Evelyn? Is that you?" He had sat upright to face her, when his jaw dropped. Evelyn was not only sitting in blood but had dried up blood stains on her lips, all the way down to her chin. Her clothes were torn in various places and were dripping blood on the side she had previously been laying on. "Baby?"
Oh snap! Wait for it...wait for it.
Embarrassment washed over Evelyn's face as she stood to walk towards him. He shuffled backwards till his back was to the door. Clearly lost for words, he shifted his gaze to the mess that was made and his eyes landed on me...
Could this possibly get any worse?
I don't know...let's see-
What are you doing?
Getting up...calm down, I'm not going to eat him.
"Derick, baby I can explain-"
"What the hell is that!? What are you? Don't touch me! What..." His voice vanished into a gasp just as his eyes landed on the head that was on the counter. His breathing rate increased at the same time that his face flushed with fear.
"You did this. You did this..." His words got further and further apart as he switched his focus from me to Evelyn.
"You. Did. This."

That was one heck of a chapter, extremely short as compared to all the other ones.. not so sure about it though. I feel it could've been better, what do you think?
I would love to hear your opinion on it, and the book as a whole... :)
PS. Criticism is welcome.🙈
