Sitting inside the Malhotra House, writing her journal by the window pane was a beautiful young girl who was almost sixteen years old. She had big dove like innocent eyes, long lashes and an angelic smile. Her face was young with pink cheeks and was reeking with an pristine fresh charm. She was this sweet and gorgeous teenage girl without a smile today, as she was missing her dear mom and was vexed with her father and brother's over protectivene rules.
"........Born with the silver spoon. That is what everybody says about me. The pedigree of one's wildest dreams...the genes...the wealth...the family: according to people, I have it all.
What do they know!
It is more of a golden cage with these very personal security details guarding me 27x7. The scariest of which is my dad - The Manik Malhotra. Do not even get me started about him. Then comes the evil twin - Nikhil Malhotra. Do you know how unfair it is when someone who is so similar to me that he shares half my genetic constituency is treated to a completely different set of rules that I?
He thinks he is older, smarter and stronger than me and that somehow gives him the freaking audacity to order me around! All because he is two hours, three minutes, forty two seconds older than me and that he is a guy! Guys are supposed to be protective! Protective...my ass! He is just hell-bent on making my life miserable.
Next in line, Neal Malhotra, my younger brother is an irritating nerdy lil freak with his big glasses and braces. But right now, he is my most favorite person in the house as my mom is out of the country for the coming ten days. God save me! Why did you have to leave me with these crazy people, mom?
Let me say something about my mom here. She is the most awesome, most beautiful, most graceful, charming, amazing angel in the whole wide world. She totally rocks my world. I'd do anything for her. That is why I lie to her that I am happy and I can be myself just fine for a few days in this crazy jungle amidst these crazy people, without her.
The truth is that she has given up a lot in taking care of us three kids. She deserves this thing. She has this amazing talent that she never got the time to pursue between the three of us. Well, four of us really. My dad can be such a kid sometimes..."
"Tara!" She hears her name yelled out.
She looks up from her diary and shuts her eyes close. She walks to the dining room where all the people listed in her diary were seated. Her dad and Nikki had just returned after playing basket ball.
With her dad was his right hand man, Tara's almost uncle and also her worst nightmare - Jo.
"What now?" Tara looks at her dad with really mean face.
"Please sit.." Manik says without looking at her, showing the chair across from her.
She rolls her eyes. She looks at her twin brother Nikki who is turned into an ugly nightmare since her mom is not around. Nikki was sixteen too...but he looked much older. People would easily pass him off as someone who is at least three years older than Tara. He was already, almost as tall as her dad and well build. The only thing what would probably give him away was his smile. When he smiles his lop - sided crooked smile, he looked like the adorable sixteen year teenager that he is. He was currently looking at Tara, scratching his newly emerged beard.
Tara glared back at him.
"Can you not make a meal of it? What is it?" She demands.
"SIT!" Manik looks at her angrily.
Fine! Have it your way - she murmurs. She goes and sits in the chair at the table across from him.
