CHAPTER FOURTEEN | CHESS GAME & THE NOT CIRCUS
Hella Moriarty entered Sherlock's flat only to find at least a dozen of boxes and tons of books lying around the entire living room; John's eyes were closed and it was very noticeable how annoyed he was with the situation while Sherlock's face was emotionless and was looking at the books concentrated.
The brunette arched her eyebrow and decided to close the door loudly making John open his eyes and jump startled at the sound and Sherlock only lifted his eyes towards her for a second to then continue looking at the book in his hand.
"And your little ray of sarcastic sunshine has arrived even though you were very much rude to me" Hella commented walking around the boxes, she grinned with her eyes on John "So finally Sherlock decides to quit being a consulting detective to open a library, good for him, don't you think, John?"
"Hilarious" Sherlock replied blankly "Be useful and start looking."
Time moved on again and it was night time. Sherlock had removed his jacket and John had taken off his cardigan, Hella was blowing the hair on her face, of course, she was with her back facing Sherlock so he wouldn't see her wasting time because she already knew which book was.
Again, time moved on and now the daylight was starting to show up even. Books were scattered everywhere over the table and the floor and some of the crates had been shifted about. As Sherlock ran his fingers through his hair and then looked around at the crates and sighed, Hella decided it was time to do something or else she would actually kill someone in that room just to have some entertainment.
"Sherlock" Hella whined catching the attention of the two men "I'm getting bored... and you know the possible consequences of me getting bored."
Sherlock sighed annoyed but the truth was that he was just as annoyed as she was, unfortunately, between the two of them Sherlock was more capable of controlling himself when it came to boredom, Hella's psychopathic tendencies were stronger and mixing that up with her mood swings would only make it worse.
The curly haired man made a grimace "Multitasking test?" he asked.
"Yes" Hella instantly answered with a grin.
John arched his eyebrow confused "Sorry, multitasking test?"
"Yes, John; multitasking, the ability to do several things at the same time, and test-" Sherlock was cut off.
"I know the definition" John snapped "I meant of what you two are referring to that."
"It monitors the capacity of our brains on multitasks" the sociopath started to explain "While we are looking through the books, we will also do another activity, like riddles, puzzles, calculations, anything."
John nodded understanding "Yeah, well... I'm fine by just looking at the books or I probably won't concentrate on the search."
"Suit yourself" Hella shrugged and turned to Sherlock "I'll let you decide this time the activity."
