Alec's P.O.V
Max and I are walking around Central Park late on Friday night, right after me, Jace, Izzy, and Clary returned from a mission. Max had come up to me and asked if he could talk to me, I said yes and that's why we're walking around Central Park. I picked Central Park so I could get him some ice cream because mom never buys it, I thought it would be a nice treat. "So, Maxy, what did you want to talk about?" I watched as Max licked his vanilla, chocolate swirl and think,"Well" he started, " I was wondering what mom was crying about the last time we where here." I was taken back," Max, why would you want to know about that?" I asked truly curious "Well, when we got back mom and dad started staying in separate rooms and never talk to each other unless we had a Clave representative or they are at a clave meeting. And now that mom runs the Institute again, they never talk. Do you know what's going on?" I stopped dead in my tracks, and thought back to that conversation,
Jace and I were walking down the hall right after Max's Rune Ceremony, when I saw Clary. When I finished talking to her, I walked over to mom and Jace, who were hugging and talking. I walked up and stood by Jace, "Max says that you and dad have been fighting about me and Magnus." I told her, "Max doesn't have any idea what's going on between your father and me." I interrupted, " Then what is it?" She took a deep breath and it looked like she was fighting back tears, "I didn't want to burden you all..." She paused and took another deep breath. Jace stepped forward as I asked "Is dad cheating on you." Mom nodded and started crying, "Bastard." Jace stated, and she wiped her tears, "You can't tell Isabelle, she worships Robert. I can bear it, but it would destroy her." I hugged her tightly, "Come stay with us, you and Max. You don't have to go back to Idris or dad." I told her, rubbing her back, "Oh... I wish I could stay more than anything," she moved away from me,"but I have to get back to the clave." "Why not let Robert take care of that." Jace told her, "Everything's different now because of Clary and the sword. I can't let my problems interfere with my duty. Not now."

I squatted down next to Max "Max, Dad has been doing some bad things and mom's angry at his choices. Ta's it okay." I pulled Max into a hug, care to watch his ice cream. "Oh that's sweet. Alec is trying to soften the blow to the families baby." I quickly turned and grabbed my seraph blade, "Sebastian," I sneered, "what do you want?" I watched helplessly as Sebastian and his followers surrounded us. "What I want is for you to put down your blade and for you both to come with me, quietly." "And why would we do that?" "Because if you don't I'll make sure and kill your little brother slowly in front of you. Poor little Max." I sighed and nodded. I then grabbed Max's hand before we were ushered into the waiting portal.

Jace's P.O.V
It had been a little over two hours since me, Alec, Izzy, and Clary returned from our mission. Alec and Max went out because Max had something he just HAD to talk to Alec about. I really hadn't noticed that they weren't back yet until I had finished my make-out session with her. I was walking over to Alec's room when I felt a sudden surge of anger, though only for a moment. I knew I was feeling Alec's anger, so I raced the ready of the way downtown his room, but found nothing. I than raced to Max's room but found nothing either. I than walked into the control center and asked "Has anyone seen Alec or Max?" Everyone's answer was the same, no. I started walking to the Head of the Institutes Office. I didn't even bother to knock before I pushed the door open. "Mom, we need to talk." What I say when I opened the door was not what I expected. Mom (Maryse) was fighting back tears and was talking to a messenger. "What's wrong?' She through her hands up and walked over to me, and handed me the letter he'd been reading. It said "
Hello New York Institute, I have some of your fellow shadow hunters. I believe their names are Alec and Max Lightwood. They will be staying with me for a while, we'll forever unless you can find me. I'll make sure they're comfortable. Oh, and tell the warlock that his boy toy will be taken extras care of, what I like to call my way. I plan on using them to my needs so unless you find me, you'll never see them again.

I had to retread it a few times, "What is going on. They just went on a walk and Alec was armed. He wouldn't let them be captured." I through me hands up,mimicking mom's earlier motion. I just couldn't grasp that Alec and Max had been captured. Mom nodded, "Sebastian has them and we haven't been able to track him ever before, so we can't track them now." I just couldn't process this, I leaned on the wall for support, :We can t-try t-tracking Alec through our parabatai bond." Mom shook her head immediately," No, it could break the bond or kill one or both of you." "But..." "No, it's out of the question." "Fine, I'm going to go train." And with that I stormed out of the office and towards the training room.

Isabelle's P.O.V

I was walking to the Institutes head office when I saw Jace storm out of there like satan, himself, was after him. I followed him to the training room, and watched as he beat on the poor punching bags. He's punch them until he broke a hole through them that had the sand running out of it, I watched as he punched through his sixth one, did I finally speech up, "Wow, what did those punching bags ever do to you?" "Nothing" he mumbled angrily. "What's gotten into you?" "If you really want to know, ask mom, okay. She'll tell you?" I huffed out a breath, "fine, but have you seen Alec? I was going to help him get dressed for his date with Magnus." When I finished Jace broke down into tears, he started sobbing. I quickly ran over to him "Jace, what's wrong? Did you Clary get in a fight?" He shook his head, "No, A-Alec and M-Max w-wer taken by S-Sebation."
