"Crap...Not the witch..." Jason breathed turning to face the girl in the door.
I sat up and looked at Jason, noticing the anger and resentment in his eyes that resembled my old resentment to the vampires, Drake, and Trace, for making me this. I stood up and placed my hand on his shoulder gently before walking over to the girl to get a better view of her. She had blonde hair and dark brown eyes that were almost black. She was wearing a cheerleading outfit, but she had two raven feathers braided into her hair along with a string with two black beads connected to it. She had black eyeliner on and black eyeshadow on that sparkled. She looked just like a witch from some more well-known drama shows.
"Hello. I'm you're roommate, April Springs. May I ask what the connection between you and Jason is?" I asked deciding if I play it dumb, it would work better.
"What's it to you?" The girl asked with a cold tone.
"Well I was just wondering since Jason is my fr-" I was saying before Jason's arm snaked around my waist and he quickly cut me off.
"I'm her boyfriend. That's why." Jason said with a calm tone even though I can tell he was furious just by looking up at his dark blue eyes.
"When did you get a girlfriend, pet?" She asked Jason with a sneer.
"Since we met." I said trying my hardest not to growl.
"I didn't ask you, Springs." The girl snapped at me.
"Kaitlin, calm down." A girl next to her whispered into her ear. "We can't let her know about our coven yet."
"I know this. I'm not the leader of the coven for no damn reason." The girl who had been yelling at me and Jason whispered back.
I looked at them and studied what they said. They seemed to not notice that I could hear them clear as day. Thanks, sensitive hearing. Apparently, my roommate was a witch and somehow got the formula from Drake and Trace to create a Tiger-human like me. Jason and me where a lot alike apparently which means we should protect each other. I looked over to him and smiled a reassuring smile.
"Don't worry. I'll protect you from them." I whispered so quiet that they couldn't hear but he could.
See, the thing about us Tiger-humans is that we hear things that are too quiet for normal humans or witches to hear. We could hear an army coming from a mile away if we ever came into that situation. We could hear deer out in the forest roaming around, grazing, from the room we currently were in. I had realized this back when we were living with Zack and Austin before I had given myself up to Kelly to protect the Werewolves and the Tiger-Humans.
"I don't need protection." He growled at me loud enough for them to hear.
"Protection from what? Us?" Kaitlin asked walking around me.
"What can she do to protect him anyways? She's just a normal human being after all." The other girl, who I now recognize as Becky, sneered as she too, walked around me.
"She does seem to be a good test subject for the experiment I was planning on performing on one of the other people..." Kaitlin whispered to Becky.
My eyes widened at that, and I immediately shoved my way past them. I ran out the door and down the hall as quick as I could. No way in hell would I become a test subject for another experiment. I could hear them following me while cackling. I needed to hide and fast. I needed to get out of here. I immediately relied on my sense of smell and followed the smell of the forest towards a window. I glanced down to see it was about a two story drop down. No way am I risking breaking my leg or revealing I'm a Tiger-human either.
