"Liam." I was to flabbergasted to say anything else. A smile broke out on my face and I jump forward to hug him. "It's been awhile!"

Liam laughs at me but hugged me back. "It has." I backed away and let him into the house. Liam smiles at me and walks into the living room.

"I guess I don't have to ask about how have you been doing." He looks at me with look of sorrow and concern. He saw'll the bottle of Jack Daniels, can I make it anymore obvious?

"I've been better." I say crossing my arms and sitting on the couch crossing my legs together. Liam sits on the love seat, as he puts his elbows on his knees. "How have you been Liam?" I asked him.

"Well Melanie, can't say I don't want to kill my best friend, but I do." He says rubbing his face and looking back at me. I let out a humorless laugh.

"Let me take a wild guess, he won't tell you anything either." Liam shook his head and I look away in thought.

"Melanie, I came here to talk to you about this and about something else." I look at him and he gives me half smile.

He looks to the floor. "I got accepted to school in Florida, it's a school I've wanted to go to for a long time. They are giving me everything I could ever dream. I only stayed for my first year of school for my family to show them I'm okay on my own." He looks back up to me and I smile at him.

"Liam this is great! I'm so happy for you!" I jump up from the couch and hugged him again.
He laughs and hugs me back.

"You're the first I told, but I'm hoping everyone elses reaction is like yours." He laughs and I smile at him. I break from his hug and sit on the coffee table. "Well since you told me that, I got accepted into to school in California." Liam looks at me with a heart dropping smile.

"Well here I came here to tell you, so you would miss me but I guess it's going to be the other way around." I laugh at this, god it feels good. Liam just made my day, just by even being here and smiling. But anytime he smiles he makes any persons day. He's extremely good looking to begin with, his smile is a gift he shares.

"Just FaceTime at anytime, you won't miss me as bad." I say smiling at him.

He smiles at me but then looks away. "I can only stay for couple more minutes. I have to go meet my family to break it to them about me leaving. But I wanted to come to see you, I miss you Melanie." He truthfully states to me while meeting my eyes.

"I've missed you Liam, I really have. I wish I would have reached out sooner to you-" He cuts me off while shaking his head.

"Don't sweat it Melanie, we have summer before we leave for school. We can make up for lost time then. But right now we need to address the elephant that is sitting on the couch over there, weighing both of us down." He metaphorically states. I stand up and begin to walk around the room.

"I honestly don't know, he broke up with me after getting distance. Then began dating Leigh, Leigh telling the whole school my life story. After that we talked, we kinda left it on good grounds. I just want a straight answer that's all I freaking want. There is something bigger going on and Jace is smack dab in the middle. What the hell am I missing Liam."

"Well you just gave me another puzzle piece to this situation. Jace told me he regrets ever walking away, but he has no choice it's either Leigh or Leigh that's it no other options. I got that out of him when he was drunk." Liam gets up and stares at the fire place.
