Song of chapter: Fall by Clay walker

Jace's P.O.V.

Everything hurts.

This all I can possibly think, as I punch the guy I'm fighting. In a crowded room, that's humid and stuffy.

The guy I'm punching, pretty sure he hates me now.

He falls to the floor and taps out. Everything blurs after that. A guy puts my arm in the air showing I won. The crowd is loud, and annoying. I'm handed four grand. I take a shower. I throw on a navy blue shirt, jeans. Where's my left shoe? Oh it's right in front me.

I sit on the bench and stare at the floor, think about her. All I think about, I rub my face trying to rub away the memories. I pull out a picture I got printed of us, my favorite one.

She's smiling, I broke her ponytail and took a picture of her. I smile sadly, I rub my thumb over her face.

"I miss you." I mumble to myself. All I can think about is how she told me that she wanted to walk away from what we had. "But I do Jace." It haunts me, but I understand.

I wouldn't want to be in a fucked friendship, with Leigh constantly after her.

I hate Leigh so much. She just couldn't let me be happy.

"Four grand tonight halfway done." I tell myself, only thing keeping me going.

Sighing I slide the picture in my duffel bag, grab the strap and toss it over my body.

I walk out of the empty building, I waited for it to empty out so I don't have to answer questions.

I lock the door as I walk out, the owner just gave me the key because I'm always the last one out and first one here.

I sigh and turn around to start walking towards the truck, it warm enough to get the bike out. But I constantly get bitch out by Leigh saying it fucks up her hair.

I don't give a shit.

But I don't want to fight her, the fight in me is gone. I drive the truck and deal with her complaining about how ugly and old it is.

I don't win either way with her.

I walk around the building and set my eyes on my truck making sure no ones stole it.

It's happen before here.

What I see instead sends me to a complete holt. I can't help but smile. Just looking at her makes me smile even if I can't be friends with her. She has that affect on people and she doesn't even know that.

She was sitting on the roof of the red beat up old truck. Her heeled boots setting on the hood as she has her forearms setting on her knees. Her hands were clasps and she was look at the sky.

"Melon you better be giving me some good news." I mutter to myself. I start walking towards the truck with determination.

"You know there's a perfect view of the Big Dipper right here." She pronounces out loud for me to hear it. She isn't looking at me, but my walking slowed half away as I'm almost to the truck.

"So when were you going to tell me that Leigh had your balls in her hands and you couldn't get away." She states as I walk closer to the truck, and I wince. Straight forward as always.
