[ lorelei' pov ]

"hey, will can you hand me the piping bag?"

will gladly tosses me the piping bag as i get to work on this 3 tier cake for a client that came in this morning.

"how are you doing? we never really talk that much." says will setting down the sculptor and looking at me across the table.

my co workers don't talk to me what's going on??????

"i'm good, met up with some old friends."

"i'm glad you're doing good, we never really hear about you. all of us here at the bakery worry about you."

"i didn't know you all cared so much."

"of course we do, i know it doesn't seem like anything is really wrong and maybe your just anti social, but i used to be like that. i just wanted to check."

does this mean i have a friend at work now?

"i'm about to go on my lunch break, so i'll see you after ok?" he says placing his tools back into a small jar before grabbing his bag set on the chair next to him.

"yeah, see ya." i say with a small wave as he smiles before leaving the room.

i continue to work on the cake trying not to mess up the marzipan and fondant figures that will made for the cake when a pair of arms comes around me, making me jump.

"that cake looks nice."

i crane my neck around to look at simon who has come to my work to visit.

"simon, what are you doing here?"

"um, i really wanted some cake." he says letting go of me.

"well the 'failed decorated cakes' plate is over there." i say pointing across the the room towards the window.

"thanks, how are these failed? they look great."

"well it's more kind of like, the flavor was wrong or the wrong color fondant was used or the piped icing wasn't even. stuff like that."

"wanna make a youtube vid? i want you to come to the house and decorate cakes with us."

"me? be in a video seen by thousands of people? i don't think so simon."

i shake my head as my hands come up in defense before putting them back down so i can pipe the icing evenly.

i hear simon groan at my refusal as she loudly snacks on the cake in the corner of the room.

"please? josh is gonna be in the video."

"why would that influence me simon? i said no already."

"please please please please please!"

"ok fine! but it'll be awkward, i'm not much of a social butterfly you know?"

"i get it, i appreciate you agreeing to do this."

"you're welcome, now as it's 13:00 i'm gonna take my lunch break." i say picking up a leather backpack from the back of my chair.

"can i join?"

"well i thought that's what you were here for."

"i kinda forgot what an actual job was like. you know that lunch breaks are an actual thing, sorry."

"well come on then simon, i'm going to nandos, it's the end of my shift anyways."

"great so you can do the video today?"

i roll my eyes at simon before thinking about what

"yeah just get that cake box over there, and put those cake layers in there."

"ok ok......i'm ready lets go."

simon and i walk out of the side room to the main shoppe where william is just now walking through the front door.

"hey lorelei!" he exclaims holding a bag of food that looks like chinese takeout.

"hi will." i say with a slight smile as he walks past.

i'm not used to saying hello to people at the work place.

"who was that?" simon asks holding the door open for me.

"just a guy who works here i made friends with today."

"that's good, you said you had a hard time making friends."

simon and i hopped in different cars and drove on down to pickup nandos to go before heading to his place so he could film this video.

"you sure you wanna do this?" he asks as i roll my eyes at him.

"i already said i wasn't but i'm doing this for you so don't make me regret it."

"o-ok, lets start."
