skin is fair
don't cause a scare
just sit in the chair
and breathe the air

i slouch comfortably in the plane seat next to the window as josh stands up to me left stuffing his bags in the top compartment.

"sit down love, you're too restless." i say as he slumps down into the cushions putting the arm rest up and leaning his head on my shoulder.

"just a little anxious is all." he responds with a small sigh talking a lot slower than he usually does.

"there's nothing to worry about, if anything i'm more nervous than you."

"but you're what i'm worried about, what if you don't like it. or what if you get sick or hurt."

"josh, i will be fine. i'm not gonna get sick. i'm not prone to sickness you know. don't worry."

he nods as he sits up straight, letting me lean on his shoulder. i move in a little closer as he plays with my hair.

"get some rest love, chip said you're tired."

"mmhm." i sleepily mumble as i feel him push my hair from my face.

"it's 10 hours and 15 minutes so get some sleep......so if it's 22:00 pm now and it takes 10 hours to get there, but there's an 8 hour time difference.....we should get there at 1 am." he starts to ramble as a snuggle into him.

"i've never been on a plane before until now."

"really? look out the window while we're in the air. then sleep, i want you to experience this."

"ok josh, but i might not stay awake. i'm really tired."

"ok, but i promise it's worth it."

"alright, i'll try."

that's when the plane started to take off.

and it's beautiful.

being in the clouds like this.

"you like it?" josh asks with a smile on his face.

"yeah, i like it a lot."

then the plane rumbled, shook, rattled, all of the above causing me to grab onto josh's arm in fear the plane might just go down.

"j-josh?"

"that was just turbulence, its normal. everything is ok. just breathe."

my grip tightens on josh's shirt as the 'turbulence' continues. taking very deep breaths, i attempt to drink some water without choking on it. tears start to pool in my eyes as the turbulence stops and i quickly learn that l i'm afraid of flying.

"and shhhh it's ok, get some sleep. i am here" he whispers still playing with my hair, moving me closer to him. "close your eyes."

i close my eyes and try to go to sleep as the soft sounds of him humming a tune makes me lull to sleep a little faster.
