[ lorelei's pov ]

"hi, i'm josh."

"i'm lorelei, nice to meet you josh."

i hold out my hand to shake as he takes it with a very firm grip.

"do you want a drink? tobi said you guys just got back from playing football."

"water would be nice, thank you. tobi said you would be tall, but not this tall." i say looking up at him, more than many inches taller than me.

"if you think i'm tall you should meet Simon, he's taller than myself." he says as he hands me a glass with cold water in it. "do you like video games?"

"i haven't played much in the last week but id like to say i'm pretty good at most games."

"you like golf or uno?"

"i'm a beast at both so, yeah. you could say that."

"i might have a competitor then, say you join me and the lads in a couple games of both and we'll see if you're really that good."

"you're on, pal."

i don't know why i'm so comfortable with a guy i just met. he's just so nice and easy to get along with.

"FUCK YOUR NAN AND EAT IT!"

i look up turning towards the tall male who is now towering over a mess of glass and water.

"goodness gracious josh, back away from the glass i will get it."

he backs up to go get something, don't actually know what he's going to get but hopefully some gloves.

"josh?"

silence.

"josh?"

silence.

"well looks like i'll be picking this up bare handed."

i start picking up the glass, cutting my fingers every so often trying to pick up very small pieces.

"fuck." i say as a large piece of glass cuts across my hand.

with a swipe of my hand and a flip of the lid i throw the glass away, going upstairs to find a bathroom. not wanting to contaminate their kitchen sink with blood.

i go into a bedroom with an open door and there is a lanky boy a little taller than josh, butt naked.

well i guess i found simon.

"oh my god! i'm so sorry!" i sat shielding my eyes with my non bloody hand.

"who are you!?"

"i'm josh's friend, lorelei. i didn't mean to intrude it's just there was glass and my hand and-" i ramble before he stood me.

"it's ok, just stay there while i put on some tracksuit bottoms."

i continue to shield my eyes as he moves around his room.

"ok you can put your hand down now."

he's got no shirt tho.

"i know what you're thinking, you're hand is more important than a shirt right now."

he leads me into the ensuite of his bedroom, putting his arms around me with a hand on both sides of my arm.

"you're hands are bare small you know."

"well yours are gigantic."

"are they now?" he says as he continues to look down at me hand with a light smirk on his face.

"i didn't stutter, did i?"

"that's true. so what brings you here, i think it's odd i've never met you before."

"well josh hadn't either until today, i've been tobi and ethan's friend for about 2 weeks when he suggested i met his other friends. i hope it's not odd, tobi said he might think i was your fan or something like that. are you guys famous?"

"i guess you could say that. although famous is a very strong word. we're just youtubers."

"that's cool, i've always wanted to do that."

he smiles as i hear a little knocking sound.

"simon, why are you already trying to get in there? you just met her."

i try and back up but i just move into him even further.

"josh! i was just helping her out. her hand's got a plethora of cuts in it."

josh looks at me apologetically before looking at simon once more.

"i'm gonna go down and get to mopping that water up."

simon nods as he focus goes back to the cuts on my hand.

"so this might hurt but it's for the better." he says pulling out some rubbing alcohol from the cabinetry.

he started pouring the liquid onto my hand as my body started to concave under the pain of the alcohol seeping into the deep cuts.

"s-shit."

"i got you." he says holding me up from me passing out, due to the strong smell of the intoxicating liquid.

"and we're done!" he yells as my vision starts to go a little hazy. "let's get you to a chair love."

feeling myself being lifted off the ground and then set in a cushiony seat as simon's hands leave my much smaller frame.

"this has probably been a disastrous visit to meet your friend's friends. i'm very sorry."

finding it difficult to say anything i just shake my head no with a slight smile.
