Up in the sky away from thought
I look to the clouds and felt the winds I had caught
My wings spread further as far as they could
Below me blurred the trees of a wood.I felt my brood surround me with warmth
We freely glided into the dawn
As one we ducked and dived through the air
We continued flapping without a care. Our arial gymnastic display was such a sight
As our feathers caught the wind we used all our might
To sweep and wheel around
We noticed below us the lack of ground. The sea looked inviting as we required a rest
But what lay below would disturb our nest
Quickly and suddenly we moved as one
We settled on an island our day now done.So flapping and arguing we made our homes
Pairing and bickering never alone
Predators above and below
Kept us up in a worried shadowFinally at last we reached our peace
And settled to sleep on the beach
So here we were our own bird nation
On our journey of migration. So I went a bit mad this weekend and wrote 5 chapters. I must be insane. I hope you all have a productive week and remember to hit that star if you liked this poem
