Guinevere had taken Lance back to the village after Monessa's out burst, luckily she wasn't around, Guinevere  suspected that she had gone to seek guidance in the woods.

The horse, Snitch, had settled well into field with the other ponies Lance observed. The silver beast was happily grazing alongside the horse who in English was called Red. He was the horse belonging to Myler.

'So,' began Lance as he ran his hand through his dark hair, 'What was that all about hey?'

Guinevere shook her head as baffled as he was, 'We may never know, most of the time her visions tell her of something that may happen so maybe she saw you and the outcome of your arrival.'

They were both glad of the incantation that Myler had put on them, allowing them to understand each other no matter what language they spoke, Lance had had a slightly different spell, however, the extra oak leaves allowed him to understand the native tongue.

A cry startled them as they turned towards the sound. There they saw two very muscular knights atop panting, sweaty stead's that were dressed in full amour alike to their knights.

Suddenly the larger of the two pulled his helmet up, Lance heard Guinevere's sharp intake of breath as
blonde, shoulder length hair fell around the knights handsome face. His piercing blue eyes fell to Guinevere noticing her full attention on him. 'You wench. Fetch me ale.'

Startled by his tone Guinevere's face suddenly shifted from amazement to anger. 'You do NOT order me around you filthy animal. You maybe clad in steel but not even that can protect you from my wrath. We don't even know your name and yet you have decided we are SLAVES?'

Feeling the venom coming form her the knight quickly back tracked. 'Pardon me for my rudeness, we have not been around decent folk for a long time and assumed we would be treated with hostility. My name is Arthur and I would be honoured to drink your ale if you would allow me to.'

Clearly happy with his response Guinevere calmed her heart rate spiking at the mention of the name Arthur. Lance noticed this and gently lead her to the stores to get the knight his drink.

When they returned with a pint for Arthur's companion as well what seemed like the entire village had gathered to hear the warriors tales. On seeing Guinevere Arthur stopped what he was saying and dismounted.
'Fair maiden pray tell what is your age?'

Guinevere, clearly unimpressed spat 'No fair maiden but brave fighter of sixteen years, and you feeble sir?' She added sarcastically.

Smiling at her wit he replied 'Fifteen, I am sorry for the offence it is just you are... so unique

Clearly impressed with the answer Guinevere nodded grabbing the knights horse to untack it.

Lance had been distracted by the exchange as he had his eyes on a different prize. He learned from where he was speaking the companions name was Galahad, he seemed younger (like Guinevere) but was apparently sixteen, the same age as Lance. Once he had finished his story and ale Lance walked over nervously.

After such a long ride Galahad was expecting nothing more than a bed but was startled by a pair of fierce but nervous green eyes. 'Hello.' Galahad began, 'Who have my eyes befallen?'

Smiling sheepishly Lance replied, 'I am Lancelot but most call me Lance.'

'Lance eh?' Galahad tested his name, 'Would you show me to my bed chamber to undress?' Then realising what he said he amended 'You don't have to stay for the latter but could you undo the breast plate they are a pain.'

Lance still blushing nodded and helped Galahad dismount, handing his horse to a nearby farmer who nodded understandingly. Lance was surprised when Galahad snaked his arm around his waist. In his shock Galahad stole a kiss on Lance's forehead causing a beetroot red face to appear. 'Sorry.' Galahad quickly said realising his attraction may not be reciprocated. He unwound his arm from Lance but before it was off him Lance caught Galahad's hand and clasped it in his own.

'I don't mind at all.' came a dreamy whisper as they approached a hut.

Carefully undoing his amour Lance had most of it off until Galahad was in similar attire of a plain brown tunic top and woollen trousers. Then almost like magnets they both closed the space between each other coming in for a gentle kiss. Straining to keep themselves from doing it again Galahad was the first to break the serene silence. 'You are perfect.'

✴✴✴

In another hut over Guinevere stared at Arthur defiantly. 'Don't tell me how to undo armour I know perfectly well and I have to put it on myself I don't cry and ask someone else to do it.'

'You know that is not what I meant love it is just you were pulling it awfully tight....' realising what he said Guinevere looked at him with her brow furrowed in confusion.

'Love?' She replied.

'Yes?' He squeaked back unsure. Honestly slaying a dragon was way easier than trying to work out what was racing through Guinevere's mind.

'I will allow it.' She said, adding 'Love.'
Arthur smiled with relief and then quickly kissed her forehead. She sighed as if exasperated by his innocence. Grabbing her by the neck she met his lips smiling at his shock. As the kiss deepened a knock was heard on the door. There stood a sheepish looking Lance with Galahad's arm possessively put around his waist.

'Myler calls us immediately.' Lance spoke his voice high and happy.

They reached Myler quickly, excited for his knowledge. 'Monessa predicted 'he' would die, for a long time I thought she meant one of you here.' Myler regarded them all to be sure they were listening. 'What she meant was your old self.' He pointed to Lance, 'Is dead and there is no way for any of us to go beyond this time. What you appeared from was a time loop, I had used them to aid others in their own quests but they are all closed with no clear way to open them. Lance you will never see your old life again.'

Myler looked upset but Lancelot could do nothing but smile up to his boyfriend. 'That will not be a problem.'

A twist on the Arthurian legends...
Two parts for two very different protagonists, if you enjoyed this strange tale charm this chapter with a star. I hope you will be as happy as Lance.
