That day I had taken Jeff's car to go get ice cream for our night tradition. It wasn't the day of the party it was about a week before. When I was there, yeah Jessica and I were acquainted through her asshole of a boyfriend and friends but also through Jeff. Seeing her at the store though looking back now I truly wished she just let me be invisible.

"(Y/n) Smith right?" Looking up you were a little startled to suddenly see Jessica Davis standing in front of you. You pulled Jeff's Letterman jacket closer to you feeling a bit out of your comfort zone as talking to her wasn't a regular occurrence.

"Yeah," You said turning back to the ice cream you hoped she would go away but she didn't.

"Jeff never stops talking about you. I've seen you two in the hall, man you guys look so happy makes sense why no one ever sees Jeff anymore," Jessica said obviously trying to make conversation looking over at her you furrowed your eyebrows.

"What do you mean?" You asked not offended just curious about what she meant by never seeing Jeff anymore.

"He hasn't been to a party in months we asked him about it he said you don't really like parties and he refuses to go without you," Jessica said clearly hinting to something unknown to you, closing the freezer door you leaned on it still engaged in talking with Jessica.

"Oh sorry. I just-I've had bad experiences with parties they make me feel unsafe," You explained Jessica smiled kindly putting a hand on your shoulder.

"Well you don't have to Jeff won't let anything happen to you. Look okay you don't have to but I'm throwing a beginning of the year party it's going to be fun I want you and Jeff to come it's Saturday at seven but you know that's really code for nine," Jessica said in a whisper winking causing you to giggle lightly which she returned. Grabbing the ice cream you nodded chuckling to yourself.

"I'll think about it and talk to Jeff about it but I'm not making any promises," You said causing Jessica to squeal in excitement, swapping numbers Jessica left with her items and you paid for your own and then left as well.

Jessica, you were kind to me and I'm so sorry what happened to you at that party but everything seemed so right that night. Everyone looked to be having a good time anything bad that could've happened didn't seem like it would happen but it did. The worst happened that night for all of us some more than others.

"Sure you want to do this?" Jeff asked as you guys sat in his car parked in Jessica's driveway a little early but several others were arriving as well. Taking a deep breath the sky was a deep shade of blue, calming your nerves you refused to hold yourself back.

"Yeah I'm sure I can do this and if I can't I know you'll help me," You said Jeff smiled at you before leaning over pecking your lips. Getting out of the car both of you walked up to the door hand in hand and when Jessica opened her front door her smile widened.

"I'm so glad you two came!" She exclaimed letting you both in Jeff kissed your forehead before helping the guys with the heavy lifting.

"Thanks for inviting me," You said causing Jessica to smile kindly at you which you hadn't met someone who was so kind to you in a while. Yeah, you and Hannah were still good friends but meeting more people seemed to be a difficult task.

"It's not a problem this is the first party of Junior year for us. You and Jeff bring this energy that makes anything seem possible. I definitely need that here so thus I had to invite you plus I know my boyfriend and his friends aren't the nicest to you I am so sorry about that," Jessica said which just made you chuckle as you were just happy to finally feel a part of Liberty High.

That joy I felt of finally being a part of the High School didn't last very long and I never want to be a part of Liberty High. That place is corrupted with the worst and we overlook it every day just because he's a great athlete, or she's so kind at school to the adults and her peers. I thought everything was going to be great but those little great things led to big things that weren't so great. That night robbed me of my life I died that night maybe not physically, maybe not mentally, but emotionally (Y/n) Smith was killed on impact. All of this pain and sorrow from one stupid decision made by another. I guess the worse part was when I finally returned to school everyone was so fake, people who use to laugh at me were all of sudden so kind. I was suddenly a part of Liberty.

"Sweetheart, you can stay home a little longer if you need to?" Your mother said as you sat in the passenger seat. Leslie sat in the back and you were parked outside the entrance of the school about to get out as students were all over.

"No mom I can't stay in my room another day I'll go crazy," You said which shocked both your mother and sister as it was the first you had spoken within the whole two weeks since the party. Your voice sounded foreign to you as it held no emotion and was just broken and battered. Stepping out of the car with your prosthetic foot first it was odd to press down it but you did anyway then taking out your crutches you began to walk toward the building. Wearing a plain white tank top, leggings, and low cut sneakers your fake leg was prominent but the weather was warm so you couldn't hide it not that you cared to. Walking past all the staring eyes Leslie stayed at your side all the way into the building. You ignored the looks but Leslie glared at people as not only they looked at you with pity but then they would stare at your left leg.

"Are you gonna be okay on your own?" Leslie asked you just nodded attempting to smile reassuringly but the smile didn't reach your eyes. Heading to your locker upon arriving you found people had put things onto your locker little notes, flowers, and just kind gestures.

That day a certain someone was oddly kind to me but she was usually kind to everyone so I didn't notice the odd acts of kindness. At first, I just assumed it was because she felt sorry for me but now I know it was because the guilt was killing her. I'm glad it was to hold a secret like you deserved a little suffering you should've come clean.

"Hey, do you need a ride home?" Looking over your shoulder their stood Sheri Holland with keys in her hand and a soft smile on her face. Leslie had to stay after school as she was joining Glee Club in the school.

"No thanks," You said coldly your voice, expression, and attitude was still constant you were cold and distant with everyone even your own family except Leslie sometimes and your parents.

"Are you sure I know your house is quite a walk away," Sheri said causing you to sigh in annoyance as it wasn't far but it was clear she meant it because of your leg.

"Look alright you never cared about how I got home before don't care now! I don't need your pity or your sorrow I have more than enough of that!" You spat in anger before turning and walking away as fast as you could manage on your crutches. Sheri didn't give up though, she walked you all the way home not saying a word. Not even when you both got to your front door you went inside without sparing a glance and after a couple of minutes of staring at your friendly and inviting home, she walked away. What you didn't know is she walked away in tears she could see your happy home wasn't so happy anymore because of her.

At first, I was confused I didn't understand why Sheri was trying so hard I mean I understood to a certain degree. I just assumed that is who she was a kind and empathetic girl but man was I wrong.
