I remember that day clearly I didn't even know they had hired her. When she came in she was nice and we clicked quickly. We became fast friends in the blink of an eye and we fell apart even faster.
"(Y/n) Smith this is Hannah Baker. You're going to be training her so get acquainted," Your manager Mr.Taylor said looking at Hannah as you smiled kindly.
"Don't worry you'll learn quickly it's really easy except for the lingering smell of burnt popcorn," You said causing Mr.Taylor to laugh as he retreated to his office.
"Well I'm a fast learner," Hannah said making both of you chuckle as the energy was really positive between the two of you.
"Word of advice Mr.Taylor never shows up on Fridays. So like if you have a date or want to go on one just let me know or one of the others and they'll cover you," You explained lowly with a mischievous look in your eyes making Hannah smile.
"You seem like trouble, I like it."
Hannah and I became close we may not have hung out all the time but we were very close. She invited me to her little group that always hung out at Monet's after school. I didn't go though two's a party, three's a crowd, and four is chaos waiting to happen. I wasn't wrong as fast as Jessica, Hannah, and Alex became friends the faster they fell apart. First Alex stopped hanging out with them then Jessica stopped. I remember Hannah telling me about how they were dating and completely iced her out. What I really won't forget though is when Hannah showed up at my house that night.

"Hey what's wrong?" You asked as you opened your window Hannah climbed in clearly upset. It was pretty late and whatever happened she obviously didn't want her parents to know about it.
"Jessica basically hates me now she slapped me in Monet's apparently Alex broke up with her and she's blaming me," Hannah cried causing you to sigh as it all made sense.
"It's probably because of that stupid list he made."
Hannah was really upset about that stupid list I was on it too. Alex made us both targets I just knew how to ignore it. I get why we reacted differently yeah we were both getting picked on but she lost a close friend, that list really messed things up for her. I wouldn't say Hannah and I were best friends all the time I was more like Clay towards her at times except I wasn't in love with her. Hannah confided in me and I was there for her through all her problems, well not all but most of them. Yes, I'll admit it being Hannah's friend was problematic because no matter where she went trouble followed. Even with the so-called nicest people, hey Courtney did you really think setting up her memorial was redemption. Before the dance Hannah, my sister Leslie who was a freshman, and I all got ready for the winter formal.
