"Kennedy," Olivia called as she entered her best friend's house, worried for her life why the teenager wasn't answering her phone calls. "Ken, where are you?" She yelled, hearing the girl's crying from down stairs. "Kennedy, open the door." Olivia said, nervously as she attempted to open the bathroom door only it was locked.
Olivia and Carrie had been calling Kennedy for over and hour and she didn't respond to any of the voicemail or texts. Olivia had instructed Carrie to stay outside unless something had happened, but soon enough Carrie had run into her house to make she that her daughter was okay.
"Kennedy, I'm coming in." Olivia hit the door with all of her weight, stumbling into the bathroom. "No, no, no." The detective said, looking down at the teenager's wrists as she took the razor blade from Kennedy's hand. "What have you done?" Olivia spoke in a panic, Kennedy collapsing against her. "Honey, it's going to be okay." Olivia said, wrapping a towel around the girls bleeding wrist.
"I'm sorry." Kennedy sobbed, breathing heavily as she leaned against Olivia. "I didn't want to. I didn't want to." She repeated herself, shaking her head as she sniffled.
••••••••••••••
"She's going to be okay." Olivia hugged her best friend, the two sitting outside of Kennedy's bedroom at the hospital.
"She was fine when I left. She was smiling when I left Olivia." Carrie shook her head as she looked down at the dirty tiled floor of the hospital.
"We were gone for three hours,-"
"What happened? I don't understand. Did I do something? Was it making all of this worse for her Olivia?" Carrie wiped tears from her eyes as she spoke, the detective unable to get the teenager's words out of her head.
"Care, she kept saying to me that she didn't want to do something." Olivia spoke, breaking the silence. "I want to go and talk to her, see what she was talking about." The woman added, Carrie looking at her seriously.
"You don't think,-"
"Care, I don't know anything. I know that you want to protect your daughter but right now, I know nothing." Olivia said, causing the blonde to nod in response.
.....................
"Kennedy," Olivia smiled gently, walking into the teenager's room. Kennedy was sitting on her bed reading her current favorite book, 'Love Does' by Bob Goff.
"Oh, hey," the girl replied quietly, pulling her sleeves over the bandaged cuts on her left arm.
"You don't have to do that with me, you know that." Olivia said as she took a seat on the edge of the bed. "You told me that you didn't want to do something, what were you talking about?" The detective asked, causing Kennedy to look down at the floor.
"I shouldn't have said that." Kennedy replied, shaking her head as she pressed her lips together.
"Honey, you know that you can talk to me. What's going on? Your mom said that you were fine when we left, that you were smiling." Olivia said, causing the teenager to let out a small sigh.
"Please, don't tell my mom." Kennedy's voice cracked, causing Olivia to place her hand on Kennedy's thigh. "Ethan came over once you and mom left." The girl pressed her lips together, a tear falling from her eye as she stared down at the floor.
"Sweetie, tell me what happened. Did he beat you,-" Olivia tried asking but she was cut off by Kennedy shaking her head 'no'.
"He wanted to have sex and I,- I didn't want to. He got really mad at me." The teenager broke down into tears, the memory of the sequence of events that landed her in the hospital tearing her apart inside. "I told him no. Once he lifted my skirt Olivia I just froze. I didn't know what to do." She cried, Olivia pulling her into a tight hug. "I felt so disgusting after and he told me that I wouldn't ever get away from him because he's the only man that could ever love each me." She sobbed onto Olivia's shoulder, the woman rubbing her back gently. "I didn't try and fight him off,-"
"Honey, you said no. Look at me, everything is going to be okay, I promise." She hugged Kennedy tighter than ever, pulling away only to wipe her eyes.
"I love you, Olivia."
"I love you too, Ken."
