Kennedy awoke to the sounds of her mother crying. She wanted to rush into her bedroom and ask what was wrong but she knew what it was. She knew that it was because the way Ethan was treating her. She knew that if she just told the truth and came clean, her mother wouldn't be sitting in her room crying in fear of her daughter's well-being.

"Mom," the teenager knocked on the door. "Can we talk?" She asked, slowly opening her mother's bedroom door.

"If you're ready to tell me the truth about Ethan. If you're ready to stop lying to me and to break up with him." Carrie said, pulling her hair on top of her head as she walked towards her daughter.

"I love him,-"

"How could you love him? Kennedy he abuses you." Carrie cut her daughter off, causing the young teenager to gasp. "Every time you come home from seeing him you have a new bruise or your lip is split or something else." Carrie added, before Kennedy could reply. "Please, explain to me why you won't leave him." She sighed, wiping her face.

"Mom, I met him when you were on tour. He was the only one that was there for me. I know that you love me but you had shows and meet and greets and he was just there for me." Kennedy tried to explain herself, Carrie lowering her head, already blaming their relationship on herself. "Mom, I'm just scared, He was there for me when no one else was. What if no one loves me? What if one day,-"

"Kennedy, I will always love you no matter what." Carrie said, cupping her daughter's face as she looked into her daughter's eyes. "This guy is ten years older than you. He doesn't love you if he can hurt you the way he does." The woman said, closing her eyes and shaking her head. "It kills me inside to see you this way, bruises all over your body. You deserve so much better." Carrie gently wiped the tear from her daughter's face once it fell from Kennedy's eye.

"I'll break up with him." Kennedy nodded, pressing her lips together. "I'm sorry for putting you through all of this." She apologized, lowering her head, ashamed of herself.

"I'm sorry for not being there for you when I should've been."
