After about an hour of driving, I realized two things. One, that we we're in the most northern part of Wisconsin, which explains all the forest area. And two, Louis has no idea where he's going.

All he knows is we're going south, and he already got us lost three times, but he's too stubborn to stop and ask for directions. Even better, its in the middle of winter so everything is snowy and icy.

After passing a log cabin restraunt for what seems the fourth time, I throw my head back and groan.

"Oh my god! Just stop and ask for directions!! You got us lost AGAIN!!"

Louis sighs and looks over at me.

"Fine. But only because I have to use the toilet."

I laugh at him as he turns back to look at the road again. He turns into a parking lot of a thrift shop.

Walking into the thrift shop, Louis runs over to the bathrooms as I look around for a worker.

After about three minutes, I found an employee in one of the isles, re-stocking the clothing racks. Before I could say anything, a voice behind me speaks up and makes me jump.

"Excuse me, love? Do you know how to get to Illinois from here?"

I look over and glare at Louis as he smirks at me. The lady stands up to deal with us.

She looks about mid forties, brown eyes, short blonde, but graying, hair. She was shorter than me and Louis but stood with confidence, which made me respect her. Not many girls are confident the way they should be. Her voice cuts through my thoughts, stopping me from analyzing her any further.

"Why yes I do!"

Her voice had a southern accent as thick as honey, making me wonder why she's in Wisconsin instead of being further south.

"You want to follow this road all the way down until y'all get to the highway right down there. And then, you follow until you see a sign saying Illinois."

I smile at her, instantly wishing that I had her accent. Its so cute!

Louis spoke up, once again throwing me from my thoughts.

"Thanks, love."

The lady smiled.

"No problem darlings. Y'all have a good time."

Louis grabs my hand as we start walking back to the car. He followed what the lady had said and found the highway.

After about ten minutes, I started drifting into sleep.
