AVERY LAUGHED AS HAM pointed to where he was going to hit the ball, she was pitching today. Benny squatted down next to Ham as the umpire.

"Come on! Give him a hockey stick!"

Avery got into position and pitched the baseball. It flew straight into Benny's glove as Ham tried to hit it too early, "Come on, you call that pitching?! This is baseball, not tennis. Give me something to hit!"

Benny threw the ball back to Avery who easily caught it, she laughed again and fixed her hat, "Alright, Ham. This is my heater!"

Avery threw the ball which made a loud smacking sound when it came in contact with Ham's bat, everyone watched as the ball flew over the green fence followed by the sound of broken glass.

Avery knew they weren't gonna get that ball back, she threw her glove at Ham, "God damnit, Ham!"

"Ham, you idiot, now we can't play no more!" Benny shouted with his umpire mask now in his hand, he walked over towards Avery, they watched as all the boys threw or hit Ham with their gloves as he ran his 'home run'.

No one noticed that Scott shouted he would get the ball, the small boy dropped his glove and walked towards the fence. Squints was the first one to notice what Scott was doing, "No!"

Everyone else joined Squints in screaming 'no' as they ran towards Scott to stop him from jumping the fence. Benny grabbed onto Scott and pulled him away from the fence, he put him down as the boys lectured him.

"Holy crap, you could've been killed." Squints exclaimed throwing his hands up.

"Yeah, yeah. Truly, what are you doing?" Yeah-Yeah asked out of breath.

"Well, you guys were leaving so, I just thought–" Scott started but was cut off by Squints, "If you weren't thinking, you wouldn't have thought that."

"You can't go back there, Smalls." Benny stated as Avery leaned onto the tall male, although she was athletic, running always made her out of breath.

"Then how do we get the ball back?"

"We don't." Avery simply stated with a sigh.

"The game's over, man. We'll just get another ball tomorrow. We'll never see it again." Benny stated as the gang turned around to leave.

"Why not?" Scott asked curiously causing everyone to stop and turn around to look at him.

They glanced at each other and then back at Scott, "The Beast."
