"Where are we going?" Ashton's knee bounced slightly in tight black jeans, and he glanced around Luke's car at the other three boys. They'd asked him out the day before, and Ashton had agreed with a rosy blush and bright, excited eyes.

"It's a secret," Luke said, chuckling with his Australian accent. The other two boys also refused to give Ashton a proper answer, leaving the tanned ballerina in the dark. He gently looped his hand in Michael's, who sat in the backseat with him. Calum was driving, and Luke sat in the passenger seat. Michael and Calum had refused to let the sixteen-year-old drive.

They soon reached a destination, and Calum started driving across a bumpy grass field. Other cars were parked on it, and it took a few minutes before the ebony-haired boy was able to find a parking spot. He slotted the car into a small space, before turning off the engine. "We're here," Calum announced.

The boys piled out of the car, Ashton smoothing his thin purple t-shirt, and Luke and Calum were quick to gently grab the ballerina's hands. Michael pouted, but gently pecked Ashton's cheek before tangling his pale hand in Calum's darker one. The brown-skinned boy fondly kissed Michael's knuckles.

The boys walked through the grassy parking lot, and onto a gravel path that lead towards something that, after a few moments, Ashton was able to identify. "It's the carnival," he gasped, bouncing slightly on the balls of his feet with his hazelly-green eyes glowing brilliantly. Ashton started to walk faster, and the other three stumbled for moment before they could match his pace. With the rapid speed, they reached the entrance quickly.

An arch glowed with neon lights, and a metal chain link fence surrounded the rest of the carnival. A table stood under the brightly lit arch, covered with a dark red tablecloth that had a gold fringe. A pair of teenagers sat behind it, one with naturally red hair and freckles, and the other a dyed redhead. They both held long rolls of tickets and wristbands, and a money box sat between them on the table.

As soon as the boys got within earshot, the natural redhead was speaking. "Hey!" she said brightly. "Do you want to buy tickets, or all day passes?" Michael stepped forward, asking for the passes, and handed the girls a wad of bills in exchange for four passes. "Have a great time!" the natural redhead said brightly, waving the boys onwards.

"You didn't have to pay," Ashton said, as Michael returned to his spot next to Calum.

"It's okay, princess," the purple-haired boy promised, grinning at the pretty ballerina. "You can give me a thank you kiss if you want," he said, winking and puckering his lips. Ashton giggled and blushed, before quickly pecking Michael's soft cheek.

"Well, now I wish that I'd paid," Luke commented, and Calum nodded in agreement. "Anyways, Ashy, what do you want to do first?"

Ashton looked around, his soft eyes passing over brightly lit rides and stands displaying delicious looking food. The bright Australian sun hung low in the sky, bathing the carnival in pinkish yellow lighting. People of all ages milled about; families with kids and teenagers hanging out, elderly couples and young adults. A stage stood in the corner with a high school band performing on it, soft blue lighting creating the illusion that they were underwater.

"Rides?" Ashton suggested, staring excitedly at a violently swinging roller coaster. The excitement made the army green colour in his eyes more apparent, but the bright sunlight turned it into more of a yellow-green. His soft curls shone brightly, like tendrils of sunshine that contrasted with his tanned skin. Ashton's smile was friendly and warm, and his teeth were a bright white. The ballerina was like the sun's human embodiment.
