We both jump back into reality and head up to the girls room to settle this once and for all.

We both take the stairs two at a time and head down the hall to the girls room as fast as we can. "Amelia, babe what's wrong?" I say as we walk in and see Amelia being held by Emma. Lauren instantly takes over and is cradling Amelia like she use to when the girls were babies. I take hold of Emma who instantly wraps her arms around my neck, I try to calm her down by soothing her back "Babes" I say speaking to both girls "what happened today?"

They both look at each other but don't say a thing, Lauren notices "Girls, you have to talk to us. We can't help fix it if you don't tell us what's wrong." She says looking at both of them. Lia just nuzzles into Lauren's neck more to hide and then that's when Emma speaks up.

"We just got on each others nerves, that's all. It's been awhile since we were all together that I forgot what it was like to be all up in each other's faces." Em says softly, she looks over at Lia then Lia notices me looking at both of them with curious eyes. "Girls remember when we ...went our separate ways, Em you went with Mama while Lia stayed with me." Both girls nod " and we spoke as you guys got older about how we would always be honest with each other. About everything." Both girls nod again "well I'm calling BS on the both of you. Something happened and you guys aren't saying anything so until you decided to be mature and speak up....you're both grounded." I say as I get up Lauren looks shocked but is following my lead. "Both of you stay here and whenever you are ready to talk we will be downstairs." I stretch out my hand "phones, laptops, iPads. Everything." Lauren helps in collecting all their items and once we both make it downstairs she asks.

"What the fuck was that? I mean I know you're a great mom but damn that was badass." she says
I chuckle "I know something's up and they are just not wanting to tell us...yet. I love Em but she's definitely the peaceful one and she will want to tell us in a few hours."
"She may be peaceful but Lia is stubborn as hell, much like yourself. She'll bribe Em into keeping it quiet....whatever it is."
I start thinking back to what Lauren said earlier, could it have been the potential thought of Ariana and I being a couple? Not that we are I mean Ariana has asked me out on a couple dates but we aren't anything official, same with Shawn. I sit there sipping on my wine like before when I hear Lauren speak up.

"It was your dream." She says
"Sorry?" I say confused
"Earlier...when you asked why I let you go....and why I didn't come after you." She pauses "it was your dream, and I wasn't going to be the one to stand in the way of that."
Oh shit, we're actually going to talk about it. Ok.
"Lauren, you and the girls are my world. I would have given anything to be with you."
She sighs "I don't understand Camila, you had us. You had all of us, you freaked out on me one day and just decided that you didn't want to be with me anymore. You called it quits-"
"I was scared." I cut her off
She approaches me and cups my face gently "All I ever wanted to do was protect you, make you feel like no matter what happened that you were safe. I let you go because I didn't want you to resent me later for it, because I held you back. I don't want you to ever be scared, everything that happens we will figure out together. Please don't push me away Camila."
I find myself leaning in a bit closer, this is who I've always wanted. I was scared because I was young, a new mom, a wife. I was bound to fuck up at some point and when I did I didn't want Lauren to crash and burn with me so I ran, I separated my daughters which broke my heart but I had to. I had to take a little piece of her with me.
"Camz, you don't have to be scared anymore. I'm here." She says as she leans in a bit more, we're mere inches apart. I'm about to go for it when we hear the garage door open, signaling the girls had arrived.
"That must be the girls" Lauren says without moving away
"Dinah has a key"
I'm about to go for it when I hear Mani ask out loud where we are. I pull away slowly ..."we're in here" I say back.
